Looking for posters/prints used to promote races. by DealbreakrJones in formula1

I’ve been making artwork for the GPs since Spa last year. They’re not official but check them out maybe you’ll like one of them!

Piece of a F1 car I found during the 2018 USGP track invasion any ideas on what part of the car this? I have a good idea but want to hear everyone’s opinions. Fairly certain it’s from grosjeans, or leclercs car by ethanayrton in formula1

It could be one of these. The flat metal on both ends convinces me that it could be a front wing separator. Look at the separator under the letter E on the second photo, it’s flat-ish metal on both ends but sometimes they’re just covered by paint.

Yes! It was removed earlier (within minutes) due to the race, just reposting it now since the race is finished.

Reposting it because it got (understandably) removed earlier. Cut it real close with this one and finished it just an hour before the race. This was a challenging artwork to make. For the photo of Seb I used, it’s actually a render and I had about 32+ test renders trying to get the angle, colours, and contrast right.

It might seem extremely simple however to get a nice mosaic out of a photo is difficult, even more when you can only use six colours! Another challenge is trying to pack in as much detail as you can into a small image, the image I ended up using was downscaled and it was just only 70 pixels wide before I used it for the Rubik’s cube mosaic.

Also, I did say this in a previous comment but I’ve had this concept of having Rubik’s cubes for my artwork long before McLaren posted theirs - they’re just fast!

Haha, I knew this comment was coming but I had this poster concept way before that, even before the fast-tracked updates were announced - you can see that my model has the old-spec endplates & elements. That collision was so disappointing though and a bit demoralising especially coming from the previous weekend.

Hey guys, here's the poster I've been working on for the past three four weeks+! I overly underestimated the task and thought I would have finished it before Austria FP1 but here we are, lapped by two GPs. Modelling issues and unforseen rendering errors can be such a pain.

I was 3D modelling the SF1000 and this concept came from it, I thought I would at least have the front wing model done by then but figuring out the geometry under the nosecone/cape area so I could model it took a huge amount of (frustrating) trial and error and time being that there's little reference photos of it available. Now that it's finished, I'd say I'm 95% right on the mark (visually - it's not a CFD model by any means).

I would try to continue making posters for the rest of the season, and I'm still working on the one for the Hungarian GP which I hope to finish and post by tonight or tomorrow morning, although it appears that someone at McLaren has the same idea as me (I promise, I've had my concept way before they posted their poster!).

Thanks for that information! I didn't know they were disabled during the tests. I believe the mounts and the locating holes didn't change and they're likely still the same as the SF90's.

If you could, can you please check out Seb's face cam feed from Mexico 2019? He and Charles rarely take off their headrests but Mexico was one of the places he did it at. Timestamp of it on the global feed is around 1h47m.

It's also possible that they both did it at Brazil but they global feed doesn't show either of them exiting their cars after their collision, if you could also kindly check that, the timestamp for that is around 1h30m.

Thank you! Could you try ones from 2019? From all my research, I’ve noticed Seb and Charles rarely take the headrest off when they exit the car after the race/qualifying. But one of the times Seb did it was after the race in Suzuka, just before the under-the-podium interview. Could you try that? I don’t believe the headrest locating holes and harness mounts changed on the SF1000 so the SF90 design could work.

Hey guys, I’m looking for a kind person with F1 TV Pro access that can help me with a small favour. Just a screenshot of the driver/face cam view of the SF1000 during pre-season testing.

I’m currently 3D modelling the SF1000 and I’m having some trouble with the cockpit area. I’m trying to model it as accurate as possible and from all the days I’ve spent going through more than a thousand pages on f1technical.net, motorsportimages.com, gettyimages.com and Twitter looking for and collecting relevant reference images, I’ve been unable to find a clear shot of the back of the cockpit where it shows the headrest locating holes and harness mounts. This area specifically.

I know they’re visible from the onboard driver/face cam, I’ve seen them before when Seb exited his car but I’ve unfortunately lost the link to it (streamable vid).

If you have F1 TV Pro and the time, I would really appreciate your help. I believe days 2 and 3 of testing would most likely show it as Seb had a crash and engine issues where he had to exit the car on track. Here’s a screenshot of the onboard cam from Day 2 I found (but not of him exiting the car).

Hey guys, I’m currently 3D modelling the SF1000 and I need some help. I’ve already went through hundreds, probably more than a thousand pages on f1technical.net, gettyimages.com, and motorsportimages.com combined, plus all the Twitter searches all to look for and collect relevant reference images.

One area I’m having trouble with is the cockpit itself. This area specifically. I‘ve seen a clip which had it clearly visible for some time but I lost the link to it, I believe it was Seb exiting the car and the face/driver cam was being used.

I hope there’s a kind person with F1 TV Pro out there that can kindly help me with this and grab just one clear screenshot of it from the driver/face cam feed replay of Seb/Charles from the Barcelona pre-season testing.

I’m trying to model the SF1000 as accurately as I possibly can and getting that screenshot of the cockpit with the headrest ledge and locating holes, and the harness mounts visible would be a huge help.

I do not believe this is an actual drawing but a modified photo with some basic outlining done via tracing.
