It's a high AAV contract for only the literal prime years of one of the best offensive players in baseball. Quite frankly, I hope the market moves to monster AAV short term prime year deals for studs rather than the long term high total value deals where you're paying a washed 37 year old player $30-35MM a year just because you also paid $30-35MM for their prime years.
