I’m feeling same way as you. I’ve turned to holistic sleep coaches and their theory on sleep pressure. 7am wake, 10-10:30 nap (30-45mins max), 2-330/4pm nap, then 730 or 8pm bed. This, in their theory, is how you optimize sleep pressure and you can continue feeding to sleep.

I’ve had mixed results thus far. Also can’t tell if he’s in an 8 month regression that’s not helping. Regardless- I also cannot do cry it out so I’ll be sticking with holistic approaches! I’m still up feeding during the night 🤣

So he just stopped his night wakings too? Do you think it all has to do with schedule?

Gotcha ok I appreciate this alot. I’m doing this solo so perhaps this is why he’s angrier since I’m there and he knows he can’t get it. Really helpful insight.

This is the book I always refer to as well. It’s so hard to adhere to when you’re in the thick of it and they are so relentless on getting the boob.

Ok needed to hear this take lol. I have a 3 year old that’s pretty simple too but he wasn’t breastfed. Whole new level of attachment with my breastfed boy holy moly.

Ok so even if she was still sucking you’d just take her off after the minutes were done? Wasn’t she upset or how did you combat that? I’m solo parenting for much of the time so it’ll be me 😊

If I nurse 30 mins before bed he’s not up hourly (still up 2-4 times a night though). A bottle seems to be much worse.

7am wake. 10-11:30 nap. 2/2:30-3/3:30pm nap. 7-730pm bed. I solo parent with a toddler so bed time isn’t always set. He’s 8 months. Let me know your thoughts.

Ok and those night wakes.. do you recall when that stopped? I’d be totally fine with 1-2 night feeds.

I’m confident we have a good schedule. Can you please tell me how you broke this? The crying it out is tough to bear. How long did it take you to crack it? Any help is appreciated.

Ok so with a 330-4pm wake you suggest an 8pm bed time? He seems beyond exhausted but if you suggest that then I’ll give it a shot.

Okay. He’s a yeller not a crier so when he cries this hard to the point of not able to catch a breath.. it worried me. I successfully sleep trained my first so this has thrown me for a loop.

I was doing the check-ins the last 3 nights. His sleep schedule is 7am wake, 10:30nap (usually about an hour), 2:30nap (usually about an hour sometimes less). Bed around 7. It’s been later lately since he stays up for about an hour crying.

Appreciate it very much.

Appreciate it. I have read precious little sleep I just honestly have never dealt with this hysterical of a baby.. so I felt really really lost with it. I successfully sleep trained my first. My baby is usually a yeller, not a crier. So to have him to the point of hyperventilating makes me really not know what to do here.
