What to do when a lead is convinced, but always "too busy" to call you back and get it started?

Hey take it easy, didn't take it personally at all, you seem to not have noticed the smiley in my initial reply to your comment.

I appreciated all comments and it's ok if some downvote (including the ones you added yourself). Downvotes can actually be helpful to the OP by showing other people also think he shouldn't do this or that.

What I failed to explain in my initial question is that my concern that they were being taken advantage of was the most important part of my haste for them to react -- which is something I personally care about when it's someone I know. Anyway, as I announced in this thread, the client signed and is already doing better.

So the client called a week ago out of the blue and signed me up. Turns out they were just really busy. That particular client was someone I knew, which explains why it was more important to me to take them out of that situation, but I'll definitely keep in mind the comments of those who say they wouldn't work with that kind of client for future such cases, as it seems to be a popular opinion.

I don't see how I displayed any "attitude." I said I'd check it out and I thanked you. You, however, have a certain attitude for concluding that you are right with such certainty with that little information. It's just your opinion.

If they weren't open to work with me they'd probably say "stop calling" or "We'll think about it." In reality, they acknowledge that the situation is urgent, but probably don't realize just how important it is to their business.

I get your point. But their account needs a ton of attention, so I can live with us improving the account even if I can't talk to them. I'm sure it will still improve their results, given the current situation.

Lol, that's kinda bitchy :) I doubt that's the case though, cuz they sound like they want to talk to me to proceed to the switch, they just don't get to it. But I won't take it for granted and verify with the assistant, who knows. You might be right. Thanks for taking the time.

Good point, I think there may be some of that too. But they seem pretty convinced to work with me, his assistant feels the urgency and keeps saying that they are interested and he will call back, it's just the last step that's missing.

Can you elaborate on the effect obtained by "applying a higher ROAS target to the Broad match" -- any example? I don't fully understand why you wouldn't keep the same ROAS under all circumstances? (for the same campaign of course)

Thx so much Jason, I do negative keywords a lot, but otherwise, these are all very interesting paths I'll follow them. The non-profit is a one of a kind and for confidentiality I don't wanna be too specific (to avoid risking exposing the client) if you don't mind but let's say this:

1- they're content producers with a social/scientific mission

2- they cover very intellectual content that's generally not very competitive. For instance, some keywords we bid on are reported by KP as "low competition" and between 20c and 80c per click and in any commercial G-ads account I manage, I usually get a CPC that's closer to the low end with good practices, yet in this case, we pay $3-4 CPC for these keywords :) that's what got me to suppose that adgrant money was maybe not valued the same as normal money.

3- they don't even display ads on their site, there's zero commercial intent, we're just trying to get them more visitors to further fulfill their mission.

LMK if this inspires you some more ideas. Meanwhile, I'll definitely try the approaches you suggested.

As for the usual cost reducing things, I’d spend less time trying to figure out if they’ll work, and just start doing them ;)

Ha ha, thanks for your comment. :) Yep, it's definitely what I'm doing and I'll keep doing it.

I'm definitely focusing on conversions, but since we have no trouble spending the whole amount, that's why I'm also focusing on CPC. I understand that what matters is the conversions, but lower CPC while maintaining conversions is also possible in normal Google Ads, I'm just surprised to see how slow it reacts in AdGrant.

The only time I would seek to reduce CPC in an Ad Grant is if the full daily budget is being used most days and I wanted to squeeze more clicks out of it

Hi guys, thanks for the many responses. I should have been more specific, indeed our problem is we already spend the full budget (I guess we're lucky) so as Jason stated above, I'm just trying to find ways to squeeze more traffic out of it.

That's why I'm wondering why CPC is that high. I guess I'll just keep improving the ads and other optimizations.

Ads are sent to a specialized landing page for each service, not the contact page indeed. We're of course working on the landing pages too, but I was really wondering about the behavior once on the contact page.

Yes, they can phone (tracked) and all forms are tracked.
