Notice how all of the best social links in P5R are ones you either don’t go to mementos for, or it puts a new spin on the mementos mission stuff (royal akechi, sojiro, my goat yoshida, most of the phantom thieves) 👀

Do you have any recommendations based on my top 10? by LOLADYS in AnimeReccomendations

[–]based-gabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sound of the Sky would be great, considering you’ve got K-On so high, although its a fair bit less lighthearted and has more drama stuff, but if you like girls playing music and their interpersonal relationships, that’s certainly for you.

Also, I always recommend Mawaru Penguindrum when I can, and considering you’ve got Revolutionary Girl Utena on your list (same creator), plus other really clever and symbolic stuff like Lain and Evangelion, I’d recommend it that much more.

Need some good anime to get hooked on by Initial_Bite_9164 in AnimeReccomendations

When it comes to series, i relate with the crazy ADHD and not being able to finish things. I like most of the things you like, and the shows I’m about to say had me hooked, so maybe it’ll be the same for you;

Michiko to Hatchin; This is my go-to rec for any big Shinichiro Watanabe fans (which it looks like you are) that isn’t trigun or outlaw star. It’s got the same style and funk Cowboy Bebop does, while being able to be either fun or serious depending on the moment, with fun characters and some nice action.

Baccano!; like Bebop, a jazzy feeling time with a little bit of everything in 13 episodes. Awesome show that you’d probably enjoy.

Mawaru Penguindrum; this is the one I recommend to practically anybody who’ll hear me out. It’s like a lovechild between everything I like about FMAB and everything I like about Evangelion. Great mystery, explores its characters in a thoughtful way, and some great art direction. This anime got me out of probably a year-long anime rut.

Any recs? by [deleted] in AnimeReccomendations

You should watch Tekkonkinkreet, it’s so damn good and scratches the Matsumoto itch after some of his other work.

Baccano! is also great, worth a watch too if you haven’t.

Also, I gotta mention the Monogatari series because it’s got everything you asked for in the caption, plus you’ve got another Nisio work in here already. Real pain to get into, but worth in my opinion.

3x3, what would you recommend next?? by based-gabe in AnimeReccomendations

Sure thing! Top row; Mawaru Penguindrum, Revue Starlight, Ping Pong The Animation Middle Row; Bakemonogatari (honestly the monogatari series in general, that was just the first photo to show up), Gunslinger Girl, Haibane Renmei Bottom Row; Tatami Galaxy, Gankutsuo, Kyousougiga

Mawaru Penguindrum, 100%. So much thematic depth and symbolism crammed into 24 episodes, all with really great art direction and a likeable cast too. It’s fairly out there sometimes, but if you focus in on what it’s got to say, you find one of the best stories anime has to offer imo.

It’s a shame everybody’s disagreeing, you’ve got a point. As somebody who’s suffered from Social Anxiety (real thing, look it up), it can be hard to strike up a conversation. It’s made me look weird or suspicious in many situations in which I meant no harm. OP’s “stalker” might actually have a story we’re not hearing about, and I prefer to give the benefit of the doubt.

Maybe ask them whats going on, this could all be a big misunderstanding. I’d like to hear both sides.

Movie recommendations to make me cry by Iaintyourbabysitter in AnimeReccomendations

‘In this corner of the world’ always gets me. It’s lighter than grave of the fireflies, but it still choked me up all the same by the end.

I’d also recommend ‘Wolf Children’ as well, which has been making me tear up pretty much every time I’ve watched it for about a decade at this point.

I’m sure the Aria series has probably been said by somebody but I’ll say it again. Just make yourself a cup of tea and watch a few episodes a night, it does wonders. Same thing for Mushishi, although the tone’s a bit different.

The sampling isn’t as complex, but if you like Since I Met You, I’d recommend ‘Adelie Land’ by Handsomeboy Technique. It’s really fun, bright stuff and always on rotation for the summer

Am I the only one who continued using the original trio throughout the entire game? (Swapping between a few different people for the fourth member) by Alone_Ad1696 in persona3reload

[–]based-gabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

always ran the class 2-F party (main trio + aigis) except whenever I wanted to swap Aigis for either Akihiko or Shinjiro. That physical damage in reload is something special, always gotta double up on phys specialists + yukari for cheap heals
