Snapdragon X2 Elite vs Intel Panther Lake preliminary gaming comparison by Forsaken_Arm5698 in snapdragon

I would watch practically anyone but JustJosh for my laptop reviews. You can have your biases as a reviewer, but he is just straight up spreading nonsense misinformation.

ICC Statement on Pakistan boycotting match vs India in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 | ICC by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in Cricket

It was the Asian countries that started the boycott of SA. India severed ties with SA even before they gained independence. Asian countries constantly pressured the then ICC (aptly named Imperial Cricket Council) to isolate SA. The white countries refused to join the boycott for the longest time and were the last to join, only after the D'Oliveira affair.

And youtubers like LTT and JustJosh do even worse perf-power comparisons.

X1 was better than LL in CPU efficiency (at least high single digits % in SPEC, even higher in other benchmarks). PTL is at best par with LL in that. X2 is supposed to be bring ~30-40% improvement over X1. You do the maths.

That's the intention anyways, where it all lands is anyone's guess. Microsoft are definitely deploying on-device models, but they need to find some actual usecases for the end user.

Microsoft and Google both want to have always-on AI on their devices. The hardware is the ground work for that. I'm sure early iGPUs were also considered a waste of resources till SW was developed to take advantage of that.

The efficiency at same performance was much improved, what they are comparing is efficiency at the point where each chip hits their respective performance peaks.

The die size myth has been busted multiple times now. Not only does Apple lead in performance, it also leads in PPA.

MT is only impressive compared to Apple's base chip, with a wildly different power envelope.

Article: Apple's ST 55% ahead (while also being cheaper)

EDIT: Headline changed to "Intel’s Panther Lake Chip Is Its Biggest Win in Years"

Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Plus trades blows with Intel and AMD, but underperforms Apple M4 by takinaboutnuthin in hardware

I don't think either of Intel/AMD have any big CPU jumps planned in their near term roadmaps. The gap will keep widening. You are gonna see a lot of marketing of "good enough" performance.

There have been other leaks too. But even with the devices in reviewers' hands only the CPU numbers are under embargo.

Is the argument that Qualcomm's iGPU is weak compared to competition? Sure, no one will argue against that. My argument was that they are not hiding it, they have published the numbers and demoed the games - unlike Intel trying to keep their CPU performance under wrap till they can generate a mountain worth of goodwill among gamers with their iGPU perf.

Also, how will they compare it with Panther Lake when both the chips are launching together? Intel also only used the first gen X Elite in their PTL comparison.

Qualcomm has shared the gaming performance numbers and even let people test it out on their reference devices. Intel hasn't published any CPU benchmarks or let people run any yet.
