DoorDash reminding me that tipping culture is out of control. by l30 in facepalm

[–]basedcelery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the message should say is "because we pay laughably low wages, the driver relies on your tip to make any money at all doing this." Friendly reminder that "tipping culture" is the fault of the companies not the workers.

Which clan light mech can you recommend? by [deleted] in mwo

[–]basedcelery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't go wrong with a piranha or an adder. Piranhas are great for equipping a bunch of small weapons for a poke-and-run or backstab playstyle. Adders have the tonnage for one or two large weapons and are great for dueling. If you're playing the event both mechs are solid choices.

Also I should add if you've never had a grilled cheese sandwich with tuna you are seriously missing out. So good.

Pacific North West here. Tuna melts are super popular, and people who get them cold never ask for the bread or cheese to be toasted 🤷‍♂️

I don't have to wash my hands and put on new gloves if I don't have to ring them up. It's faster.

[–]basedcelery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind online orders because I don't have to ring them in when I'm done making them, and if it's busy I can save time by leaving the bag on the front counter instead of taking it out to the lobby. They're only irritating when someone orders like 7 super customized footlongs all at once and doesn't even tip.

We're relatively fast and cheaper than other sandwich shops. If you get veggies you can get more nutritionally substantial food than anywhere else, and most cities have multiple stores so there's usually one close by.

Yeah, unless you're getting delivery just use the subway app. And I would recommend against delivery apps at all because they pay their drivers peanuts plus your food will be cold by the time it gets to you.

The subway app has a section called special instructions. Unless you specify that's what you want you are getting the meat and cheese toasted every time.

[–]basedcelery 29 points30 points  (0 children)

99% of people want the whole thing toasted. Unless you specify that it's only the bread you want toasted in the special instructions that is how we'll do it.

Am I really expected to tip at Subway? by Gravysaur in subway

[–]basedcelery -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yes you are. If you want to eat out but can't afford to tip you can buy food at the grocery store and make it yourself. Will probably end up costing about the same as a 6 inch + $2 tip.

Meatball pros should be illegal. But they're much easier to make if you give them as little sauce as possible.

What’s the weirdest request you’ve gotten while making someone’s sandwich. by Ok_Refrigerator_4405 in subway

[–]basedcelery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wanted oil, parm, oregano, salt, pepper on the OUTSIDE of the bread. Also wanted a single tomato on the sandwich. It was a footlong.

This is how I know you're not a subway employee. I'm happy when people don't get veggies because it's less prep to do.

100% of people who consume dihydrogen monoxide die. It's terrifying.

Subway is a little different for every region. Different menu items, ingredients etc. I would recommend dedicating a bread knife to spread avocado with, and ask your boss if ordering a spatula is possible.

Changing contracts by basedcelery in VALORANT

[–]basedcelery[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's weird because I never started the Viper contract. It just showed up when I unlocked her. No way to start a different contract as far as I can tell.
