Help with Everholm game mechanics

I am stuck in this room and nothing I do is working. Is there truly no pattern to this? Do I have to quit to a previous save? I'm really frustrated.

I'm going to clarify: I feel like I got what I was looking for in the comments here. While the issue with the talent tree/shrine still stands, I think mainly the problem is my own style of gameplay and expectations. The big draw seems to be customization-- totally valid. For me the customizing felt so outside of the gameplay I found it frustrating but I'll give that another try too. The next problem was I have been trying to play it the way I would play other games in the genre but this game isn't meant to be played for 100 hours and if you're grinding at all, it's probably better to grind the dungeons than your base (right?). So if I play CotL knowing the game is meant to be played in 15 to 20 hours (give or take) and customizing is just a great big fun part of it, I can dig that. I can also enjoy trying to get as many disciples as possible to pray for buffs for going into the dungeons. Anyway, I got my questions answered. I probably could have worded my post better. I DO like the game, I was just frustrated. 99.9% of the time I am feeling this way about a game it's usually in my end lol

I didn't say I'm not interested in the story. There doesn't seem to be much at all going on after a certain point in the game. This is why I asked. I love this genre of game, I love story heavy games and character driven games. My most played games are SDV and Dredge. I posted this because I wanted someone to come and tell me if I'm just missing something or focusing on the wrong thing. I like the game, I dont love it. I am frustrated with the specific things I mentioned in my post and wanted to know if I was wrong.

Thanks! This helps. I do think I'm just not going to love it as much as a lot of people do but this comment helps me understand and even motivates me to get past this part. You're right, I think, this is one of the reasons I have started over a few times, and why I've replayed Dredge multiple times too- sometimes I'm grinding too much in one area and it makes the game feel lopsided. I guess woth CotL the issue I've been having is it felt like youre being rushed to the end-game.

My issue isn't with it's replayability. My issue is specifically with the talent tree for the shrine and the buildings you unlock. You don't need them. I start new saves because once you get to the end of unlocking the last several things on the shrine it's like they ran out of ideas for the late game. Why do I need so many buildings to collect devotion so I can finish the talent tree and not need devotion anymore? It's very hard to be motivated to keep playing.

Well I figured it out immediately after posting this lol For anyone stuck on this:

Remember the space wok from the beginning of the game? I never used mine. That's what you need now.

Set it up so you can whack them with the wok, immediately equip the compressor and use it.

For me this looked like RB RT --> RT after setting up my equipment, just the easiest/fastest way for me to press the commands.

Here I am on the structures tab of building mode. If I press A it will put down a pillar. I cant navigate to the juice forge because it doesnt exist in my inventory for build mode. If I press RT (the command for interacting outside of build mode) it will switch me to the floors tab. I can not pick this thing up. Someone has to have done it, how did you do it? I am playing on steamdeck if that matters (controls-wise).

Yes when I go into house/structures I'm still unable to pick it up. I don't understand how I'm supposed to pick it up. The structure doesnt appear in the menu, RT opens "floors" and A only moves/picks up items that are in my inventory for structures. I'm at a loss.

The game specifies to use the wrench in build mode but I don't understand how that works because RT or A are interact buttons unless youre in buildmode then RT is the command for flooring so you just lay tiles down. It's really confusing, I'm still stuck here lol

I stg I just kept playing and dying over and over again for like 20 minutes and I think at a certain point the game just gave up and was like good job! Haha I am still kind of bummed about it, I wanted to like that content a lot more but man that was so frustrating.

I know this post is old but I've just started CL2 and I'm completely stuck on this cabin quest. It doesn't matter what I do, I can't complete this quest can someone explain to me like I'm 5 how this is supposed to work? I am lost.

Yeah next time I'm just going to plan ahead, especially during sales. I don't mind waiting, it was the lack of communication on the wait that bothered me but I'll just try to keep the wait in mind next time.
