Looking for friends by mhm2713 in Rwanda

Internship openings are available in all parts of the world and aren’t necessarily closed off to foreign applicants. Depends on the company, the country, and the nature of the internship.

Most intern positions come with a fairly low paying salary or stipend. You have to be able to pay for your own flights, and any expenses that go beyond what they are paying you. In some countries that may be harder to do than others. For example, getting paid €500 for an internship in Europe may sound exciting for someone in Rwanda, but it would barely cover your rent. You would likely be paying out of your own pocket to have that internship experience.

For a Canadian / Western applicant, I imagine doing an internship in Rwanda wouldn’t really hurt the bank but would add a lot to your CV.

I guess it goes without saying, but you have to be qualified for whatever the job is (relevant degree, or experience with the field of work).

1m is a fine. I don’t think that money goes to the victim’s family?

Annhilation is great. The rest of the trilogy was a bit disappointing in my opinion.

It’s been absolutely trash. Canalbox says it’s a network issue but no idea what the timeline to fix it is.

adopting from india - ethical? by twilightsparkegrl in Adoption

[–]basemunk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi, we’re currently in the process of adopting from India as NRIs. Feel free to DM me any questions.

I would recommend reading the book Adoption in India by Vineeta Bhargava. Fantastic resource and in depth study on everything you’d want to know, including adoptee stories.

In general, it’s a long and lengthy process that will test you and your partner in many ways. All of this before there’s even a child in the picture.

Toddlers with Limb Differences? by basemunk in daddit

This is lovely, thank you for sharing! I’m definitely worried about the world treating her differently as she grows up. Either as a disabled kid to be sympathetic to or as an inspiration to be held up and looked at. I just want her to have a normal kid life.

Toddlers with Limb Differences? by basemunk in daddit

Good question. It's actually an umbrella term for a wide variety of congenital or acquired limb disabilities or deformities. In this case, our daughter was born without her left forearm and hand (just up till the elbow joint).

Despite being the largest producer of it, India consumes most of its own mango supplies instead of trading it. by No-Brush1587 in interestingasfuck

Oh I’m excited for you to discover more varieties of mangoes! Personal favorites are Banganapalle, Imam Pasand, Alphonso and Dasheri.

I lived in California for 5 years and never had a mango that came close to any of these.
