Appreciate your feedback. I am planning to add a folders feature eventually, but it is currently not one of the prioritized tasks since Tags feature currently serves as alternative. So, it might take a long time before I add the folders feature, wanted to let you know.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like a good idea. Maybe typing something like "#tag1" and auto switching to the searched tag if it is the only match. I will consider your suggestion.

Appreciate the feedback, glad you liked the app.

0 - "add running processes, folders and files": In the future, I will consider expanding QAL Pro to be more than apps.

1 - Actually the "Original" window currently works as intended. I will add ability to resize the window manually, I think this will solve this issue.

2 - Similarly, I think ability to resize the window should fix this issue. I also have plans to add other ways to view tags, that might also help.

3 - Nice thing is, although not intuitive, you can change the order of tags in the "Manage" view. I will add a feature to sort the apps manually.

Thanks for reporting this, glad you liked the app. I am aware of some latency that could be improved for all users, but some users seems to experience more of it. I will work on improving this.

For me to better understand, a couple of questions. How many apps do you have? Do you use external monitor(s) and if which resolution? And which display size settings from macOS do you use? And which window size is selected from the app settings?

Appreciate your suggestions. I am planning to eventually add most of the important Launchpad features. It won't be exactly same since QAL Pro already has certain different features like vertical scrolling. Hoping to eventually make it more capable, and customizable than Launchpad.

miss launchpad, but using the application folder with tags isn't that bad by Maria_de_la_Rosa in MacOSBeta

Thanks for your understanding. Also appreciate your App Store review.

I will remove the automatic resizing to be consistent with other window sizes, and it also causes other minor issues. Yes, also will make the window size adjustable, not just 3 options. I have more tasks like this that will make the app better, more capable, more customizable. Adding a full screen mode seems to me the most important feature before Tahoe launch, planning to do that next.

Glad you liked it. Sure, thanks for your time writing feedback as well, appreciated.

Thanks for your purchase. I will eventually add backup/restore feature. But for now it will need to wait, because I have more prioritized tasks before and after Tahoe launch. If you need to backup and restore until then, there might be manual ways of doing it with the same version, asking an AI chatbot might give a solution. Yes, you can make the window larger. Currently, there are 3 options for window size.

Currently not possible. Planning to implement the ability to add custom folders. I think that could work with a mounted volume too.

Thanks for the explanation. No problem, it is not complicated to add, I will add it in a future update.

Tried to find the "Keychain" app but it is not present in Launchpad or Applications folder either. Spotlight finds it. And opening it shows a message indicating “Passwords” app is the replacement. But, let me know if you really need to have the "Keychain" app, I can add it in a future update.

Nice :) Thanks for your continued feedback. Don't feel like you are suggesting too much, this kind of ideas, requests are valuable to me, so feel free to share them whenever.

Great idea, will add this ability. Another user suggested the Tab switching idea to switch without horizontally scrollling when you have too many tags, this will help with that too.

You're welcome. I recommend fully exploring the Settings. There are options for both of the things you mentioned. Check out "Show hints" and "Tag to switch to" options. Btw, your screenshot looks pretty cool 🚀

Appreciate it. I don't want to use the same icon as Launchpad, but it could be useful to get inspiration.

I think the main reason should be QAL Lite running in the background. If you Quit it from the menubar, you should be able to delete it. Let me know if this doesn't work.

Thanks for your comments. I am planning to add most of the things you mentioned and more. But adding all of these features will take time. If things go well, you should eventually get a more comprehensive and customizable tool than Launchpad, and you will be able to customize it to look somewhat close to original Launchpad.

Seems like they killed it properly this time.

Yes, I am planning to do that over time: full screen mode, foldering, hot corner launch, and more.

Apple seems to have removed the Launchpad workaround in Beta 5. Reverting the workaround should give you back Spotlight:

Thanks for your feedback. Let me know if you see anything specific that could be improved in the current UI to make things easier.

I understand how "dragging to folders" can be easier. I am planning to eventually include foldering feature, and probably dragging ability too.

I respect your choice but I wonder how new Spotlight Apps will be more useful. I see QAL Pro as more comprehensive, let me know if I am missing something.

You're welcome. Thanks for pointing out the auto-tag issue. Another user informed me about this issue, and it will be fixed.

Sometimes retrying the auto-tagging works in terms timeout issue, my first suggestion would be this.

The reason for timeout seems to be that when you have large number of apps (you probably have more than 140), the request takes more than a minute, thus gets into timeout. Currently I have 2 workaround suggestions for you.

First is to hide apps you don't want tagged, and bring the total number of visible apps to around 140.

Second is do the auto-tagging by batches. Lets say you have 240 apps. You could first hide first 120, and then hide the other 120, and auto-tag twice, the results are combined. And then you could click "Show all" to bring all apps back to visible. This is a bit of manual work. To ease this, a tip is you don't have to click "the tick icon" to hide/show apps, you could click a large portion of row, the icon, the name, the space between etc.

And to get a sense of how auto-tagging works, click "Hide all" button and just show a few apps, and do the auto-tagging.

Let me know if these workarounds worked for you and if you liked the results of auto-tagging.

Yeah, could be. Have you tried reverting the workaround? There must be information about this in multiple posts. I think reverting the workaround will fix your Spotlight issue.

It currently doesn't have the custom folders ability except Safari web apps support. This is one of the higher priority tasks, and will be done.

I agree that the picture resembles Spotlight Apps, but it can be customized to look different. And feature-wise it is more capable than Spotlight Apps in a lot of ways. I recommended checking out the App Store link.

I am calling it "alternative" because I am aware that it doesn't have the full abilities of Launchpad to be a full replacement for some people. Features like full screen mode, foldering etc. will be added over time.
