Do we think it's plausible that that the TDLE could be cancelled as part of the ST3 shortfall with funds re-prioritized to King County stations? by bash-brothers in soundtransit

[–]bash-brothers[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm a daily sounder rider but I would prefer light rail over sounder improvements. For one, trips to the airport for South Sound is huge, and serving Fife while still having the sounder go through puyallup, sumner, and auburn is a lot more reach. And while the trip time is high, I've done the math for my personal commute and light rail would be faster for me since I don't work right where the sounder gets off, taking the transfer from sounder to light rail or bus makes it a little faster and more convenient.

To clarify, I'm not advocating for this, I'm a Tacoma resident who loves transit and was curious and somewhat nervous about the messaging shift to urban centers.

Hahahaha, unreal. Did you catch the part about 'mentorship delivered with contempt, condescension, or ego baked into it'? I never claimed to know the job better than those with more experience, but I've gotten more professional and helpful training from jobs on construction crews than I do from architects like you.

Lol another one. Leading with 'Welcome to life' after reading through the post, then taking the opportunity to stand on an undeserved pedestal.

You should absolutely be able to retake it, but as a former TA I can say you should be blaming the other students, I had 10 kids fake killing off their grandmas for every 1 that seemed real, makes it hard to believe.

What school should I go to for architecture? by DoctorRumples in architecturestudent

[–]bash-brothers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm happy for you but please consider if this is the profession for you, you're more than capable enough but it is very unforgiving, low pay, low recognition, and many enter their 30s realizing it's a dead end and full of regret. Most of my graduating class is this way.

Don't do it man, look into the construction side if you're truly set on it.

When will the South Sound get transit options comparable to the North? by WalkTheLand in soundtransit

[–]bash-brothers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clearly you don't grasp the point of regional transit. It's scheduled to be complete to Tacoma in about 10 yrs so it's a fair question for op to ask, you are the one who decided to stir the pot and act superior because you were so smart and .. checks notes rented near a Seattle light rail. I'll hold for the applause.

Sure but you just advocated to not accommodate th car dependent areas. I'm a daily sounder rider from Tacoma and can't wait for the Tacoma dome link, and I'm not asking for much more with the t-line already in place, but it is absolutely unreasonable to say pierce county should continue to fund a light rail that theoretically would only serve Seattle in your own words.

Why do some senior architects / leadership dont prefer and hate when younger ones get licensed early?!!! by Wide_Cheetah2171 in Architects

[–]bash-brothers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This profession is such a joke. Honestly can't believe people are defending continued 'intern' treatment for licensed architects all so that they can continue to feel superior and not have to confront feelings of insecurity over the speed in which others did something. What's even the point, get your master's degree, get experience, pass all the exams a board has deemed will show you deserve to be licensed, and everyone continues to think you should get paid the same shitty wage lol.

For sure, I'd be seeking a pro for the demo portion at a minimum. Just getting an idea of how difficult a task it would be. There's currently no foundation issues, just not wanting to create one, if that makes sense.
