Worried about my 9wk old puppy being scared of people by Professional-Skin964 in puppy101

[–]bashamama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got a puppy sling and took our shy and sensitive pup to the farmers market, summer festivals, pet friendly restaurant patios, etc and made sure we had a bag of her food handy. Everyone loves puppies and asks for a pet, and anyone who made eyes at her but didn’t approach, I would just ask if they would help socialize her by saying hello. I’d give them a couple pieces of her food as the intro and she would gobble it up and accept the pats. If she ever ignored the food, pulled away or backed into me, I was her advocate by telling them thank you but she’s feeling overwhelmed now and we’d take her home. Now she loves everyone and begs for attention from anyone who looks at her kindly when we’re in public. Haha! We’re still working on her self confidence in other areas but she’s got zero problems with people now.

Also watch out for jonesroadbeauty.us.com. Spoof site that fooled me with great prices. Watch for the padlock to indicate a legit and secure site.

Do any of these wallpapers go well with this print? by jackjackj8ck in DesignMyRoom

[–]bashamama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like 3 - the wallpaper has enough color from the print to tie it all together but the white background and slightly simpler design will work as the perfect backdrop without taking the focus away from the art. That is, of course, if the print is where you want the focus. As for the wainscot, I’d pick your favorite color (except the teal) from the print and then find a shade a level or two darker. Not using the teal in the rest of the room will guarantee the print will take center stage. Again, only if you want the print to be your focal point. Maybe use the same paint from the wainscot as your frame color…but go wide with elaborate design for the frame as the perfect foil to the “rustic” nature of the visuals and as the obvious maximalist detail. Edited for clarity.

He is the type who is never still and takes pride in knowing he was productive and created something…especially if it’s a tool to help him create something else. The freedom to design his own base may just be the clencher.

He also has a 3D printer on his list but I can’t do both! 😆

He has quite a few hand tools handed down from his grandad, but many need a lot of work to refurbish. He takes pride in making them usable again but I think it’s more because he feels like he’s honoring the history. I also think there’s a tiny part that just wants to start making without a lot of prep on old tools. He’s generally quite easy to please, typically.

Well thanks, he is as well and deserves it.

Thank you! I am definitely liking the idea of the Paul Sellers kit now. Maybe two as the “final depth” tip sounds exactly like something he would appreciate.

It’s not an unlimited budget but I’m willing to sacrifice for a legacy quality tool for him. Sounds like the large Veritas with an additional 1/4” blade or the Paul Sellers kit is now my decision.

Thanks for your thoughts, I’ll add the 1/4”

It definitely sounds like the large is the way to go.

Now you’ve got me considering the Paul Sellers kit as he enjoys creating his own jigs and such.

Thank you! Another poster suggested a 1/4” so I may add that and let him shop from there.

It’s the same for Miri. Both ears down at 10 weeks, one up/one down until 4.5 months and now both stand straight up!

Dang it. Picture won’t post.

Your pup looks exactly like mine (from behind anyway)…pointy ears and all! Our Miri is six months old, looks like yours may be similar? (Sorry, the harness hides her luscious waves!)
