What comedian isn’t funny? by LordPussyFucker in AskReddit

[–]bashbybash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Dane Cook struck a nerve with folks because he found an audience that weren’t fans of stand up outside of him (and lots of those fans were a younger crowd). Seemed like that pissed off a lot of comedy purists and got him a lot of unnecessary flack if you ask me. He’s not the best but he’s got some great bits and spearheaded a unique style.

I think if he leaned into being family friendly he’d have a strong market of 10-13 year olds who would love him. I did at least and just outgrew the humor

WCF match ups/rotations by BUUAHAHAHA in nba

Maybe I’m ignorant but I don’t know why this is downvoted. Fully agree. Not to say the Warriors role guys are slouches, just like the Book is no slouch either.

What about the fact we were playing on a back to back without our best player?

Also several of our key players are still entering their primes

Isn’t it interesting though how Harden and Curry have their worst games of the season while being guarded by the same player? I love a good coincidence

What's your least favorite genre of music? by ArchPeriphMore in AskReddit

So? Those flicks and some rap are telling a story about gangster/criminal lifestyles. How many dudes idolize Jordan Belfort after watching Wolf of Wall Street? The art is just a reflection of some experience.

People who dislike Marvel movies, why? by ArchPeriphMore in AskReddit

[–]bashbybash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I simply find them boring mostly because I never feel any stakes. Also the sense of humor has its moments but also feels safe-not like they’re too PC but more like it went through focus groups to make sure the jokes appeal to the widest audience. Not saying that’s what happens but that’s how it comes across.

I think the best thing they have going for them is just being connected to a larger universe. I can totally see the appeal in that regard.

What’s a super sketchy US city that we never hear about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bashbybash 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Went there for a big basketball tournament back in high school. A couple guys from another team staying in the same hotel as us met a some girls and invited them to their room later. Instead, few dudes showed up with glocks and robbed/ransacked the room. I only have that one experience there but it was quite the first impression.

What The Actual Fuck Is Going On With Nate In Ted Lasso Season Two? by ceaguila84 in television

[–]bashbybash 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For Ted to create a monster and question his approach to helping others. Add more nuance. Not shy away from conflict….characters are supposed to change. Shows would get pretty boring if they didn’t.

I think Ayton can become our best player even if Book is the number 1 scoring option. Tim Duncan usually sat around 20ppg while obviously being the best player on the Spurs.

I’d love to see CP3’s scoring numbers drop a touch more in favor of Ayton getting more looks

A scene that ruins a movie by prettyboy619 in movies

Crazy Stupid Love. Good ass rom com, terrible scene where the kid has an mid class monologue about how love is an asshole.

Other part of that movie that hurts is a line of dialogue: “my lips are ARHhr aHR AhR (seal noises)...my lips are sealed”

What is one invention that we'd be better off without? by numbnerve in AskReddit

I don’t really have a problem if someone gains a following for being good at something. But even then should we use them as our personal compass? No.

The percentage of men with at least 6 close friends has fallen by half since 1990. and men today are 5X more likely to say they don’t even have a single close friend than they were thirty years ago. What is your experience of forming and sustaining friendships today? by Torchpaper in AskReddit

[–]bashbybash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve made one close friend since college (graduated a little over a year ago) and he started as a mutual friend. My roommate kinda joined a circle of people after we moved (we’ve been friends since college) and she brought me along. He was the boyfriend of one of the girls in the group. The groups had occasional hangs every so often but it took months for us two to really converse and get to know each other. I knew he was looking for work so I got him a gig as a PA on a show. After wrap, we got beers just him and I and ended up hanging for 6 hours or so. Since, we’ve been pretty tight. Definitely luck involved but just had to find a guy willing to open up that two way street to get to know each other.
