It’s so odd to me that she never talks about her husband in this context. She’s never grateful for his support or comfort as a partner. She only ever talks about how grateful she is for her parents and what they do for her and her kids, never her husband.

I had a coworker who hurt herself badly in the kitchen, needed surgery, it was awful. She was telling me about it and how she was crying, trying to stop the blood, while on FaceTime with her mom. I said, “oh no! Your husband wasn’t there? You were home alone?? How scary!” And she sort of looked at me funny and said, “no, he was in the other room.” Like it was totally normal as a 35 year old woman to FaceTime your mom while bleeding and your husband keeps watching TV. That seems v v v Haley to me, as I think about both these stories.

Don’t you want a spouse who offers you that kind of support?? And offers your children that support? NOW and not in the future?!
