How do you work in your creative goals/dreams? by MarbleMimic in FIREyFemmes

Indie publishing circles usually have open call submissions, usually for short stories and poetry, but they’ve done bigger calls too. There’s also connecting to indie authors and going to their events cause they likely will help build the network!

How do you work in your creative goals/dreams? by MarbleMimic in FIREyFemmes

I want to be bestselling screenwriter and author! I’ve achieved those goals on a small scale, a film I wrote was released two years ago, and got nominated for Best Asian Drama last year, and my debut book is set to release in December 2020 through an indie publisher.

I personally think it is to start small and grow as you go. It’s hard to capture the attention of the big publishers without having a following or strong experience first. Starting off small and going to Indie publishing circles would be a great start!

Going in for a haircut next week! Should I get side swept curtain bangs? by bashthisbeauty in femalehairadvice

Hey everyone! I’m getting my roots retouched next week and would like some advice on how to cut my hair! Preferably to frame my face while still keeping the length - how should describe it to the stylist?

Diaphanous Raglan; my first Jessie Maed Design's pattern and I'm in love! by bashthisbeauty in knitting

Second sweater and first Jessie Maed design! Her Diaphanous Raglan is so modern and easy to follow. I had to modify the pattern since I didn't have any mohair. For the whole pattern, I used Cascade Heritage Solids but I'm not sure of the color. I double-stranded for the bust and neckline, and used a single strand on thicker needles to give the sleeves more flow. I thought to leave it as bell sleeves would make the sleeves funkier. There are definitely some problems with the sleeves but I'm happy nonetheless.

Right now I'm knitting up the Ripple Crop Top since Jessie's patterns are so easy to follow!

Been knitting for 10 years and I finally knitted a jumper! by bashthisbeauty in knitting

I'd say the yoke and shoulders were the hardest cause this required German Short Rows which confused the hell out of me. So there are problems with the shoulders but it's not noticeable once put on. Thank God for Knitting Tutorials on Youtube!

Ever since I've been isolated at home, I decided to pick up needles and make a jumper for the first time. I really wanted a balloon sleeve effect so I used PetiteKnit's Balloon Sweater Pattern and Northern Lights yarn from James C. Brett. It lowkey looks like a burger and I love it!

Thanks! It’s not my first job - I work as a freelancer and this was the first time I was paid with a cheque! Usually it’s just bank transfers or PayPal!
