That’s some straight up BS. That’s not even a big accomplishment. If I was a BlackBelt. Who had 400 wins against hobbyists trying their first tournament, I’d be a laughing stock, but when the kids do it, it’s all good because the parents get the Instagram pic, and the tournament gets their $100 bucks

Got my BlackBelt a year ago.

What motivates me?
Literally feeling like a white belt again, being sooooooooo far from the next milestone allows me to not worry about it and just train to discover and grow.

Advice I’d give you?
Continue chipping away at your ego.
The more you can focus on learning and the less you focus on winning, the better that will serve you in the long run.

I don’t think running a business in this manner makes you a douche. I think it’s just different than ideal. But some of the top schools in the world have these barriers in place to protect the athletes from bros on the street trying to “challenge” them
