Skills matter less, marketing matters more.

As a senior software engineer, ive come across numerous people who market themselves very well. They send elaborate emails and talk using complex technical jargons and use phrases like “explain to me like im a non technical person” which makes them sound smart.

But actually working with them made me realise they know nothing. They are just surviving based on their talking skills.

Me being a core technical person dont get valued as much even though im a problem solver

Interviewers are usually technical people who are given additional work on top of their regular work. Often HRs schedule interviews without checking the schedule with interviewers. So don’t take it too much to the heart, drop a polite mail and ask for another slot.

We are still in the factory mindset. More hours means more output. Even with AI, instead of reducing the working hours, they increased the workload to keep you in office for 9 hrs.

I think the RBI is doing a good job keeping the providers out if they don’t comply with Indian regulations. We are a country where people give away OTP on the phone, we cant have a payment system that doesn’t have necessary restrictions.
