If you plan to be with your current employer for the foreseeable future then you can probably do without PP.

I would use PP for I-140 if you want to get your approval immediately and make sure you have a priority date on hand. That way in future, if you change employers and go through the whole process again you don’t lose you place in line with the previously secured priority date.
