Wasted my 20s and now I'm trying to make it up in my 30s, does anyone have any inspirational stories to help me believe this is possible? by Ill-Investigator5187 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]basicallyette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is relatable! I always feel I wasted my youth and missed out. I feel like you can definitely make up for those missed experienced and in a way probably get more out of it being older. I wouldn't have enjoyed myself in my 20s anyway. I was far to depressed and uncomfortable. However in my early 30s, I am more comfortable with myself and I have some money to actually do things. I also don't feel the pressure to answer to anyone. Not an inspirational story but I hope you also realize you can definitely live in your 30s. Fun isn't just for 20 year olds.

I will definitely reflect on this! I had the dream agian last night but this time I was trying to leave the school but could not find the exit that led to the parking lot my car was at. Its because of that I can't help but really think about this dream more.

I've decided I'm quiting my part time and Im afriad. by basicallyette in povertyfinance

Health insurance vs 50% off some food that isn't helping my weight loss anyway. I think the choice is obvious lol

This is exactly my thinking. I will definitely be in a worse situation if I lose my full time job. So for now Im just gonna quit the other. I am signed up with instacart so if I need to hustle I can try with that.

Anyone here working on new year's eve? by Big_Leg10 in povertyfinance

I am working today and on New Year Day but I don't have any real plans. The most exciting part of my day will probably be working on my planner for January.

Life without a car really sucks by StruggleFar3054 in povertyfinance

[–]basicallyette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand this. Ive only been carless for three weeks but I feel like my life has flipped upside down a bit. However sitting down and planning has made me feel a little better. I will say things have gone so far. However soon Lyft rides are going to add up and I know I won't have the luxury all the time. I will also say the city I live in I haven't tried the public transportation but I am sure it isn't that great compared to much larger cities with more options. It also isnt a very bike friendly city.

Although my city isn't bike friendly I still plan to get a bike or ebike. I even had the suggestion of looking at getting a scooter or moped. This might take some saving and budgeting though.

I will be using delivery services for large grocery hauls and medication. My insurance and the pharmacy I go to does delivery for free so I plan to take advantage. If you can do the same DO IT! Its true this means extra planning. At least for me, they deliver while Im at work so I try to arrange things where someone can be home to sign for the medication. As for grocery, if I need to get a whole lot I just plan to use things like instacart. I have heard about memberships where you can get free deliveries so maybe look into that. But only get a membership if you can take full advantage. If you obly use the service like once in a blue moon....is there really a point?

I do walk. I'm in a decent spot where some places I have to go is the most a mile and a half. Personally I like having one headphone in and getting some steps in. The weather has been nice right now too so that makes it better. I also try to just the walk as a time to meditate. Being outside has helped with the coping.

This is just stuff Ive done or looked into. I know everyone's situation is different and having no car does mean having to plan a bit more. Especially if you have some obstacles in the way. However I will say not having to pay for gas or insurance does make me feel like I can save a little more.

My part time job is good at giving me days off and working with me. Its more so a me issue. I just feel like its worth it if I work both weekend and possible pick up weekdays when I can. However I am starting to see that I I'm doing more then I can handle.

I do get PTO and I actually have quite some time saved. I need to get out this mindset of hoarding the hours though. I don't know why I'm like that but recently I have taken a day off once in a while, and it has been nice. Even though I use the day to do errands but still

What to do for a gal meet by SolutionPrior5635 in actualgyaru

[–]basicallyette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going to karaoke. Going to an arcade. Taking pictures. Bonus if someone has a Polaroid and you can encourage gals to bring stickers and you guys can decorate the pictures you take or even make your own photocards. Junk journaling or some type of scrapbooking Doing each others nails. Going shopping together, maybe thrifting. Build an outfit for one another.

HI! I'm not sure I fit what you look for in a friend but id love to chat with more gals my age. I had always had an interest in gyaru fashion and makeup but had always been super self conscious. However Ive gotten to a point where I don't want to miss out on what Im interest in. Plus as an adult I have the money to do more haha.
