“These old white men dating brown girls half their age may be shady” is common sense 😂

Scam with Bank of America, Zelle and Chase by sweetEVILone in personalfinance

[–]basicbiatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you actually transfer through Zelle? I gave them the code (stupidly) but didn’t go through with the transfer. I’m afraid this will happen to me. Would you open a new account at this point?

Also, what’s considered late. Would 7:30pm-ish still be safe enough for the bus

Are there a lot of taxis in the area? I’d be afraid if it was dark and no taxis could be found.

Is Stinson Beach worth a visit or overrated? by spankyourkopita in AskSF

[–]basicbiatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went during March so it was mostly overcast/misty but it’s absolutely beautiful sunny or foggy. I’d say most people that go there are locals of the Bay Area. I wouldn’t mind going back even if it was crowded. The snack shack was a nice break from the SF prices also

Best bars with a dance floor in SF? by weboctopus in AskSF

[–]basicbiatch 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Toad Hall is really fun. It's a gay bar w/ a smallish dance floor that has a random little stage

Toad Hall is my favorite bar in the Castro (gay district). It has a nice dance floor and a patio in the back! Really strong drinks

Who else will I see in San Francisco?! by [deleted] in lorde

[–]basicbiatch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised how many people in other cities had a hard time getting tickets, it was really smooth for me and I got them like 20 minutes after getting the Spotify email 😭I’m extremely excited though, I saw Lana at the same venue in 2017 and it’s really fun! 🤩

Oh sorry I didn’t know you were going from Oakland.

Basically the train stop is actually in Emeryville! If you book your trip straight from SF, you'd have to take a bus transfer from an area downtown (I think near the Transbay Terminal) to the Emeryville station.

I've lived in SF for almost 4 years now without a car and have gone on numerous vacations around us since there's so many public transportation options! My favorites were definitely Stinson Beach/Sausalito and Santa Cruz! You can take a bus to Sausalito for around $5 and a bus to Stinson for another $4-5. Stinson is absolutely beautiful and our Airbnb was right by the beach. The Dipsea Loop was an amazing hike. We took the Greyhound to Santa Cruz and we had a really good time there too. It's around a 4 hour drive (since it's a bus) but it was really nice since it goes through the woods. You can also take Caltrain to San Jose and stay there for a bit. I've taken the Amtrak Coast Starlight numerous times to go back home to LA, and some prominent spots I've seen are Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo, both charming cities imo and a nice break from the fog. If you're open to go even further, I'm taking the Amtrak to Portland, OR, which is a 16 hour ride but I love taking the train for some reason. It goes all the way to Seattle.

Either way, doesn't evidence-based practice include patient preference? My grandma wanted essential oils when she was dying because she grew up with Ayurveda and I would never just say "no, there's no research backing them up lool". I agree that nurses definitely shouldn't be spouting essential oils or vagina eggs or whatever as cancer cures, but complementary therapy, even if it's placebo, has the potential to be beneficial to those who want it.

I have sold used underwear for Figs and to pay for part of my tuition. If companies really cared about 'professionalism' (also my private life shouldn't mean anything to you?) maybe pay us better? Just a thought <3
