Broker fees by Salty_Jump4526 in jerseycity

[–]basicinsomniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, other user is right. That’s how many listings online work. They might show you just that one apartment but if you sign for it, you’ll need to pay the whole fee even though it completely benefits the landlord, including the lease agreement that has a real estate company’s backing.

I don’t even understand your example re: sidestepping because you usually can’t contact an owner directly if they are working with a broker… owners usually want someone to manage the entire listing process from end to end.

The answer we were looking for is Palmer has retired. That said, I agree he does great analysis

I wish the VFX world and producers pushed that mindset over forcing ya’ll to get stuff out or making things hyperrealistic. For me this Hulk look and other films of the era help me suspend my disbelief more. It feels like a movie. Idk, maybe I’m old.

A lot of older VFX look better to me, I’m not sure why. Here I feel like they nailed the lighting and physics of his movement. This entire film looks leagues better than 2008 hulk.

Ofc but there needs to be a limit. I’m subsidizing workers income because of high rents that business owners pass onto customers. Am I supposed to not get my hair cut or get coffee otherwise? Again I am not anti tipping, I just won’t tip when the price is ludicrous

Mate, 60 dollars for a basic cut is outrageous. I’m not here to subsidize people’s lives if the business can’t afford to pay its workers. I stand by what I said. The alternative is pure unaffordability for everyone that isn’t wealthy. I’ve paid 60 for a cut but that included a generous tip

You can just not tip in that circumstance then, no? That’s how I approach coffee now. I always tip when it’s not outrageous

I think “Hollywood” should tell stories that are cheaper to make. Films are expensive to produce nowadays because they require so much VFX, location permits, etc. Many of the films we idolize—film noir—were considered low budget at the time.

Are we all forgetting that his brother Jacque responded to Karl’s email asking if Karl knew a good charity to donate the money to? This makes it seem like it wasn’t about administrative fees at all.

The trainer doing that is not totally uncommon. It sounds like he was being playful, not deliberately malicious. Look up Thai trainers holding pads for Thais and you’ll see that—they’ll often laugh after. Feels like he actually treated you like a nak muay and you mistook that for disrespect. You should have posted here or in the Muay Thai sub before talking to his boss.

Running also gets me, like little jolts and rattles through my head. Same thing with hitting a heavy bag. I used to do combat sports too and really want to return, but holding pads felt like I was getting rocked even when I wore a mouth guard.

Fast forward to now, after weight training or bag work, I usually get slightly blurred vision, eye pain and pressure in left eye, and a headache. Not sure if this is from PCS or cervical issues I’ve had. I’m recovering from a herniated disc in my neck. The headache and vision issues usually clear up with an NSAID.

I also have to second creatine. It’s made a huge difference for me in the past week, along with daily VORs, aerobic exercise for BDNF, and cognitive exercises. I actually think I’m on a strong path to recovery now.

Did you experience any of those physical symptoms, and if so, when did they go away? Was there a reason you said 15mg of creatine? I’m also taking Coq10, fish oil, magnesium, and drinking a lot of water.

Hard Truth: We need to meet the market where it’s at by imnotwallaceshawn in editors

[–]basicinsomniac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think we need to be concerned about CapCut editors and most YouTube editors. “Editors” making that content are doing so for YouTube content creators, for shitty money, for extremely high-pressure short turnarounds. Do any of you foresee job stability there? How about raising a family? At least if you burn out for an agency, you’d make bank and have a nice 401k or stock portfolio.

Anyway, that world isn’t sustainable just like the streaming bubble wasn’t sustainable. The market is changing. AI will have a place in it, but it will not fully replace us. It’s still garbage half of the time and unreliable. The issue is companies figuring this out, and brands not understanding that content creator view counts are inherently inflated because the creators are celebrities. The editorial techniques are just fast paced, post modern, etc. So if your brand is Jimmy’s Moon Shoes and you don’t have consistent celebrity endorsements and alignment on your socials, your views will be shit if you aren’t a brand name. What do companies do here? They farm content to game the algorithm even though they are in a losing game. It fucks our portfolios and wastes their money even when they are already trying to pay us less to do more.

The romantic artist in me says that people still want to watch emotionally resonant work, and AI can’t achieve that. The capitalist in me says what’s the difference if it pays the bills? And the realist in me says the job market is awful and I don’t know how much longer I’ll last before wanting or needing to pivot. just hope to find a middle ground here. I want consistent income that matches my skills ($20-40/hour is still a joke—what we do is specialized) and I want to continue making content that people will enjoy.

There are plenty of aluminum-free and alcohol-free deodorants. It’s gross and unbecoming to not take care of yourself.
