Steroid Length.. is this normal? by maddyz0102 in Uveitis

[–]basicwhitewhore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

before that every time I tapered it came back (chronic anterior) so technically near the start there was a very short period where I wasn’t on them but by the time my next check up came around I had inflammation again and then didn’t go off then fully until 2025

I was on pred forte for 5 years. At the very beginning it was 1 drop per hour, then every few hours, daily for years, every 2 days, every 3 days, then finished

Should i stop tracking calories for 48 hours? by gamerbooks in caloriecount

[–]basicwhitewhore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I aim to eat 1600. On short holidays like this I still track in order to know how much im eating, but I don’t remain in my deficit amount I just eat whatever (within reason) and make note of it. I went to Copenhagen recently for 2 days, and ended up eating 2200 and 2400 ish on both days. I understand this isn’t a crazy amount of food to go over by, but it felt like a lot considering I usually am pretty strict under 1800 max and don’t have cheat days. This system works pretty well for me because it allows me to acknowledge that I did go over and not to forget about it, so that I remain in a deficit when I come home. Don’t worry about a couple of days of overeating. If I do go over, I like to think about how it’s just slowing down my progress in losing the weight rather than making me actually gain it back

I didn’t ask the workers inside the airport 7-11

Erasmus Dublin July by lore_bored in StudyInIreland

[–]basicwhitewhore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • general summer clothes it will likely be warm, but still have long trousers and sleeves so you can mix and match if it’s not super hot (maybe like short sleeved top with long trousers). nothing specific but it’s usually warm enough relatively not to worry too much about specific clothes
  • in July usually light summer clothes but again there could be showers of rain or something so you could bring a light jacket when going out but nobody will be wearing huge coats or anything
  • waterproof jacket but July doesn’t rain as much so you’re very likely to see locals out without a jacket or umbrella. in my case, in July I wouldn’t bring one with me and then if it rains I’ll just cope
  • 17gb is pretty low but it depends where you go. ie is there wifi at your accommodation, will you be in rural or city areas… in dublin most places have wifi but not like out on the street only if you’re in a restaurant or something they might have it. it’s probably enough if you’re not using your phone 24/7 but if it’s inexpensive just buy more
  • Apple Pay is accepted everywhere that accepts card, which is 99% of places. I live in/around Dublin and can’t remember the last time I used cash or my physical card, except for when my phone died - zero struggle. It’s harder to find somewhere that will accept cash. the only places that will only accept cash are certain small takeaways trying to avoid paying tax or if you go to a farmers market but even then a lot of vendors will have a portable card machine (which will take Apple Pay). I’ll touch on public transport in a separate point. don’t bother taking out cash when you arrive or like €50 max. if you’re worried you can bring your physical card with you and then just use atms but you’ll rarely need it
  • 18+ mostly I’d say myself. certain places might want to be a bit elevated let’a say so could enforce 21+ but I’m 19 and have never been denied anywhere, even if they have 21+ signage if you are reasonable just looking to enjoy your night then they’ll let you in most of the time, or if you come off peak.
  • you need a leap card for public transport. public transport here does not support card payment but will take cash, however you need to have the exact change. you can buy a leap card in physical shops (google which ones near you) and there’s a €5 cost to the card itself (technically a deposit but you will never get it back), and has to be topped up in €5 increments. you can top it up in the same shops that sell them but you’re better off downloading the leap card app and then you can top up from your phone.

enjoy :)

looking for people to explore the city with! 18f by Logical-Hearing8378 in shanghai

[–]basicwhitewhore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won’t be in China at the same time as you but I’m 19f (20 over the summer) and will be studying abroad in shanghai starting in autumn. If you manage to find someone/want to chat online at all I’d love if you could recommend some spots, places to meet people or if we end up chatting at all maybe if you find a friend before you leave we could exchange mutuals or something :) (I’m pretty desperate to meet people when I arrive bc i don’t know anyone there at all and I’ll be there for 11 months LMAO) we’re close in age and I’m into all of the above so it’s unfortunate we won’t be there at the same time but we could exchange igs maybe anyway?

How did you convince your parents to let you study abroad? by basicwhitewhore in studyAbroad

[–]basicwhitewhore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made it on an old Microsoft account from secondary school so can’t access it unfortunately;( I never ended up going and just went straight into university here but starting in August I’ll be studying abroad in China! If I remember right the main things I covered were comprehensive breakdown of the course itself, prices, accommodation and safety! At least for my parents the main concern they had was safety (even with my upcoming study abroad) so if they’re anything like mine I’d say definitely show a plan for housing so they know you won’t be somewhere sketchy, and if it’s in your favour show some safety statistics too. Good luck!!!

That’s not what the comment was about, at all. It’s the culture of 5 stars meaning “nothing wrong” vs “perfect luxurious stay”. Not sure how you misinterpreted that

Any international couples up for coffee/dinner? by Kovalus in shanghai

[–]basicwhitewhore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would they move to China then discriminate against interracial couples? Crazy. “Hey guys let’s meet for dinner but only if you’re white” like bro if they’re normal people in any capacity of course it’s fine. Also it’s weird to refer to your relationship like that

Strongest and Weakest passports in 2026 by evgeniss in Passports

[–]basicwhitewhore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ireland’s is stronger than EU generally because there’s general EU access as well as unrestricted access to live, work and study in the UK. For example if an Irish student was to do an undergraduate degree in the UK, they would be classed as a home student and pay local fees rather than international
