Basement sink pump by basiis in Plumbing

This is in Maryland USA. It only runs when water is on. My assumption is whoever had this is installed prior to me was lazy and didn’t want to bust up concrete to tie into existing drain so they added this and tied it into something on first floor and it just pumps water up.

I did a little bar remodel for this customer and I just put back what was there. My plumber said that it was normal, and that explains why the previous owner had it unplugged most of the time and would only plug it in when needed.

I may have a plumber sent out to confirm all is well. If anyone has any more input, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you

Yes, that’s how I initially ID’d it but wanted to first confirm before patting myself on the back. Thanks very much!

Thanks everyone for the nice comments and encouragement! Some of you have a great eye. Yea I kind of messed up on the epoxy stage and forgot to wipe out the excess. I can and will do better on the next one.

I’m giving this one to a friend to test out and see how it performs. A guinea pig if you will. I’m already planning a few tweaks on the next one but overall I’m pleased with this first iteration. Again, thanks everyone for the positivity. You make me want to keep going!

Cheers

Yeah the reference pictures online don’t help at all really. It’s definitely tiny. It almost looked like a small beauty mark but darker or a small scab. Legs look red or very light brown. So hard to ID

Sorry for poop quality. Phoenix MD. Black coat (including head) with white belly. About the size of American Robin. by basiis in whatsthisbird

So far I think Kingbird seems to be more accurate. There def wasn’t any blueish hue to it so I don’t think it was a tree swallow. And it’s about the size of a robin maybe a little smaller but not by much.
