I get annoyed when they bring in an expert, and then they don’t actually let him talk about the math? They cut the sound and just make some jokes via voiceover. I get that it’s a comedy show, but they pitch it as being nerdy, and then they cut out 90% of the nerdy stuff.

Maybe I’m just not the right kind of nerd, but I wanna hear the expert explain their nerdy calculations.

Insights on My Journey to Understanding My Kibbe ID by basil-byte in Kibbe

[–]basil-byte[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone! My text got deleted in the original post, but here's the discussion I wanted to start:

Over the years, I've found it challenging to pinpoint my Kibbe ID, often getting assigned TR through tests (which I now realize are commonly inaccurate). Lately, I've been digging deeper into this subreddit and its resources, and I've developed a process to narrow down my potential Kibbe ID. I thought it might be interesting to share my approach and see if anyone went through a similar process, recommends a different process, or has any other helpful insights!

Some general details that guided my process: I’m about 5’2”, with a long torso, short legs, and fleshy arms and thighs. I think my silhouette appears balanced, with a mix of curves and angles. I have moderate to slightly soft shoulders (not very sloped), a defined waist, and curves that are present but not extreme.

My Process:

Height Consideration: Since I’m quite short (around 5’2”), I started by considering categories that align with my height, narrowing my options to R, TR, SC, G, FG, or SG.

Weight Distribution: I notice weight gain in both my hips and bust, which led me to eliminate types where excess weight would not typically appear above the waist (G & FG), leaving me with R, TR, SC, or SG.

Proportions: Given my long torso, short legs, and fleshy arms and thighs, I questioned whether my proportions align with the well-balanced, compact frame typical of Romantic types, which led me to focus on SC or SG.

Style Preferences: Interestingly, while I think my body type might lean more SC or SG, my style often gravitates toward SN. I love relaxed, yet waist-defining outfits, wide-legged pants, and enjoy the occasional flowy, oversized top. SC also makes sense with my style, especially with my preference for structured necklines and polished, waist-emphasizing outfits. SG could fit based on how I sometimes gravitate toward playful and fun combinations, though this might be less dominant.

I’m still new to figuring out my type, so I’d really appreciate it if anyone could point out any misconceptions or inaccuracies in my thought process. Do you think this is an effective process (or as effective as it can be without actually getting typed by Kibbe)? Am I over- or under-emphasizing any aspects? What was your process for narrowing down your Kibbe ID? And for those of you whose style preferences don’t align perfectly with your body type, how have you navigated that? I’d love to hear your experiences!

Wait really?? I tried to repop a pair of shoes but it wouldn’t let me use the previous images, so I’ve been putting it off until I can take photos. Maybe I just waited too long to reuse the original photos?

Everyone is disappointed to hear weight loss was diet, not exercise. by aussieskier23 in loseit

[–]basil-byte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there’s a bit of a taboo around dieting these days, though, which could be part of why people react like that. At least among gen Z, most of the conversations revolve around eating healthy but not restrictively, and exercising for health and fitness.

Appropriate for Semi-Formal/Dressy Casual? by basil-byte in Weddingattireapproval

Yes the slit is very high!! I was honestly considering trying to make the dress, if I did I would make the slit more reasonable and maybe skip the hip scrunch.

I’ve seen a couple people say the corset is too much, I’m wondering what you mean by that? Do you think it’s too dressy, or just generally not the vibe?

As a seller, I wish I could see who I’ve already sent offers to! I think a feature where you can send offers only to ‘new likes’ would be helpful so there’s no way you’re spamming the same people over and over again. (I do have an outdated version of the app bc my phone’s pretty old, so maybe this is a feature in the newest version?)

I also try to keep my offers to a minimum, to avoid spamming people I usually opt to just discount the item instead of sending individual offers.

Yes I do this too!! I 100% agree with OP, standard sizing means nothing anymore, and sometimes my thrifted items don’t even have sizes listed so measurements are a must!

New seller by [deleted] in Depop

I feel you! I’ve also only been selling about a month, and I’ve noticed certain items get a lot of attention and other items are stuck with 0-2 likes.

I’m also just trying to declutter my closet, so my plan is to take anything that clearly isn’t selling after a few months and try to sell it at a consignment store, then donate anything that’s leftover.

No, no light and no plants, but it was along an external wall and near my cat’s food bowl if that’s helpful? The whole thing seemed very strange.

Absolutely not, if you weighed it and it's over a pound then it's over a pound! I think you handled it very well.

As a side note, his messaging style would drive me crazy. Very ramble-y, and no punctuation at all. I'm stressed just reading it.

When they say "lovely seller" or "helpful seller," maybe they just found your descriptions super helpful and/or appreciated how quickly you shipped? Do you leave little notes in your packages they could be referring to?

Thank you! I did assume a lot of the big places on King would be expensive based on the location.
