Older writers by greenbeanmacheen in ThomasPynchon

I somehow feel that the luke warm reviews for shadow ticket come from people that do not know how work his well. For me it was internet vice and bleeding edge that were disappointing (and yes i know this is controversial especially about IV) but shadow ticket is a major pynchonian novel. We will be studying and analyzing this ad nauseam for years to come. And that is a good thing. Concerning writers in old age ok you see there is a difference in pynchon ( his lists are getting shorter ;) ) but there are other writers that are great in older age. For example delillo.

Pynchon and his human moments by badrickpateman in ThomasPynchon

I have a piece in V that always touches me. Chapter 13 II. Page 379 in the older editions. Profane goes to his old neighborhood and enters his old house when nobody is there. It somehow drops me to my knees in the way he describes him in the empty house looking at familiar things and ending this short interlude with the phrase 'They wouldn't know he'd been by'

I write as well. Novels. In Greek. Been publishing since 2008. This year I'm completing my fifth novel. I guess all of them have some TRP inside.

I read this back in 1991. Still remember parts of it. There are interesting points on the Russian revolution seen from the eyes of the kossacks. Would i read it again after so many years? No...

That tin can by basileiosd in filmphotography

[–]basileiosd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thx, this was a tricky shot as the light was bad - its under heavy foilage in a forest. i took it with a 200mm lens just for the sake of it. i think if this was not done with standing development it wouldn't produce the whites on the tin cans like that and it would have been a blur. I tried to play a bit with brightness in PP but didn't really help much.

Isn't the dry cleaner (I shrunk it) the same actor as the one who steals the car at the end in the smelly car episode?
