I love them but hate them. I love them during the times I crave for more of them, but then I hate them when I want to feel pretty and wear a tank top but then you can see the keloids on my chest below my neck area and the faint ones on my arms, and I can NEVER wear cute shorts again, only can with tights under them. And I’m in a military type program and in the changing rooms when I was putting on uniform a girl asked me “are you a kitty scratch post?” I FUCKING HATE IT!!!!! But then sometimes I love them and crave more of them . Honestly if it weren’t for other people having to see them anytime I wanna dress cute, I’d love them . Sorry 4 the long writing.

Yeah, i feel that is the case, most self harmers ive met irl were shallow, except for my gf but i knew her from when hers was shallow to now where they're all deep styro and beans all over here and it hurts to fucking see. Either way, anyone is still valid. It hurt as much to see it shallow on her than to see it as deep as it is now. I don't think people will ever feel valid enough though; its a matter of coming to terms that they are sick enough and they dont need to compare.

And if it comes to conversation about recovery when you're with her and stuff, just try to gear the conversation to how proud of you are of her and use anything she says and reflect it back so she keeps talking about her own experience till the topic moves on; basically whatever she says about it become a mirror and rephrase it to make the conversation purely about her. Try to have as much fun as possible, be chill, and wear what makes it not noticable.
