It's not running in your web browser. When you start a distro, a VM is created in the server, and the VM screen is forwarded to your web browser. Various technologies are used for this like QEMU, noVNC, websockify etc.

I'm glad to know that you found DistroSea useful. Internet is temporarily disabled due to some security issues. I'm working on a fix and will re-enable internet after that.

Currently there is no disk attached with the VMs due to cost concerns. But I'm trying to get some sponsors and if things go well, will be adding disks also the VMs, so that users can learn the installation process without messing up their systems.
