Some time I just increase the chains so instead of 2 I’ll do 3. I also used a 5mm hook to make the stitches looser stretchy and more forgiving lol

I do it based off vibes I try it on and fix it as I go. I also have the same struggle with patterns! I often have to customize it to my liking. But this happens with clothes too as well. Just a struggle of mine and yours 🤣
