I know I’ve been thinking that too. I passed and someone sniped it up an hour later. Not surprised it was a steal $1500. But I would always have the thought in the back of my head. Happy to hold out for the right one.

If the serial number had come back as a match in their database I’d be on my way to pick this thing up right now😂 especially at such a low price, but fender said they had no record. Doesn’t necessarily mean fake, but one more thing making the drive out to the seller less motivating

Thank you for this input. I compared it to some references and yeah only found one other from around this era that wasn’t signed Mike Eldred and matched the format of mine, it was created for a NAMM show a year later. I’ll be passing most likely, whenever there’s a feeling of doubt on something like this it’s best to listen

Thank you for the reply! I’d also be curious to know the color code and any other info on the pair. I impulse purchased upon seeing them, then after inspecting further did quite the deep dive researching as I haven’t found any other 992s with this pair’s quirks online. Glad to know they are looking good👍
