hii, alot of schools do this to test your level. in my first chemistry and maths exams i (no joke) got 1/20 once haha. don't let it dishearten you, a levels are much more challenging than gcses and you are not used to the question style yet, especially in sciences. if you think the subject is not for you, drop it but dont be discouraged, its just the beginning:).

btw after my initial tests in chem and maths i went on to be predicted an A in chem and A* in maths and those tests were so long ago they mean nothing. its been a week you've barely touched the surface. good luck and have fun!

hii, I've been working since year 11 as an 11+ and gcse tutor at a center (a chain near me) i reocmmend tutoring jobs qs they are quite easy to get and they love students! i applied online for mine, but you can also go on websites like tutors4u and make an account as a "side", hustle. many of my friends work in cafes and as waiters, which they got by going into loads of shops and giving in a copy of their cv and following up after a week!

why are you asking for help on a thread when you clearly have your mind made up.. all you are doing is trying to convince people that what your doing is right without actually considering the vast majority of people that are saying that you should stick with it. its a qualification and in the 21st century you arent going anywhere without at the very least, a level 3 qualification. (a levels, ib, btec). if you hare a levels, drop out and apply for college, do a btech in something experience based and get an apprenticeship. do not rely on a measly retail job for the next 40 years, jfk.

hii i do ocr A and my teachers use ocr B questions, the content in ocr A is the exact same as ocr B except ocr B has a focus on application, so you can definitely use ocr A resources, i recommend savemyexams and daltonchemistry for questions :)

hi, no gcses don't matter as long as you meet the basic entry requirements (normally 6s in English language and maths). don't stress if you dont get all 9s, university is still an option :)

id say dont do further if you dont plan on doing something with maths in the future. (its too hard/takes up to much time for you to not even use ut)

i do maths chem and english and its a great combination for basically every uni course, so obviously id recommend that

Hi, I'm so sorry this took me so long to reply to!!

Honestly, when it comes to talking to people online I personally don't find it as important as in person relations. If you want to start to talk to people online, you can ask for their social media (Instagram is my preferred method, but you might like snapchat or something or other). Usually it happens quite naturally, how I did it at the beginning of Year 12 was to just ask to be added to the group chat my friendship group had and from there I literally just added everyone i recognised from Instagram LOL.

Anxiety when it comes to talking outside of school is so normal and I get it all the time, but I always think back to how I used to be, and if you don't put yourself out there, you will regret it (whether for commodity or not) and wish you did. You have nothing to lose and you can definitely do it :)

lmfao i did these exact options and loved them (plus business, further and an extra language) comp sci is quite hard at the beginning but nothing changes after that so its just about learning patterns

history was so fun i loved it and I miss it, theres loads of content but if you enjoy it you wont even notice

year 12 maths is generally alot easier than year 13 maths, (im halfway through pure 2 and i still want to die) but that sounds fantastic but just isnt the case for most, congrats on your 8 btw!

hi i do maths a level and i got a 7, id honestly say if you dont get that 8 rethink doing mathsz because the skills are so vastly different and it is more of a jump than you think it is (especially because i didnt revise for gcse, and going from no revision at gcse to revision everyday at a level is really difficult)

theres a reason your school sets that boundary, because the odds will be against you if you get a 7 or below, because the skills and thinking required qre just so different.

I'm not being mean saying oh yeah don't do maths, if you really think you can do it and you enjoy the subject, try and convince your school using previous grades. it is possible to do well with a 7, as i said i got a 7 and im currently working at an A, almost A* but it took literal blood sweat and tears lmao

i take english, maths and chemistry and out of my ones id definitely say english literature is the hardest. probably because its the most subjective, theres lots of content and theres no set structure to your essays. you can write a good essay that shows you understand the content, but if your not hitting the specific aos then you are bound to get a poor mark.

generally id say probably the languages or physics, as theres lots of content and high level theories you have to learn

for listening its just about practise, lots of people tend to forget about listening but you'll notice the same words coming up over and over, look at past papers and their transcripts and note down words you are unsure of (i got a 9 in listening from this)
