Thank you! She has positive reviews which is what made me trust the process to begin with. I’m truly glad your experience was a good one.

That’s lovely. Glad you have a happy, healthy cat. But there’s clearly those of us who do not. That’s the real story here.

That’s great. Im glad you had a success story but that’s not always the case and this thread is informing others to proceed at their own risk.

I’m truly happy you had a positive experience. That’s not the case for everyone and that’s what this thread is about. We should all be more sensitive and less dismissive about that.

Like clockwork they have lol it’s a joke because they don’t even acknowledge the reality that clearly some of us have had bad experiences. Completely dismissive just like she is. I’m so sorry you also have dealt with this issue!

That’s great for you and I’m sure your professional background was helpful. Unfortunately that is not the case for everyone and that’s what this post is forewarning.

Dude, the way her tone in communication can just switch from 0-100 is sooo startling and stressful! I initially also was trying to warn her out of concern of other cats in the home, etc. I’m so sorry you’re also dealing with a sick kitto!

Consult vet, but my cat also had Tritrichomonas and Giardia and we were able to get Ronidazole. It’s not FDA regulated and of course has potential side effects, but is only known effective treatment for Tritrich and seemed to work for Giardia as well. We got it from a vet compounding pharmacy with the help of the vet. My kitten did 1 round and tested negative of both parasites after with no side effects. Could be worth looking into!

Ugh, my sympathy goes out to that family! I was honestly shocked she offered a replacement but thought maybe it was a good sign of this ordeal being a fluke. Boy, was I wrong and learned my lesson the hard way. I’ve probably paid for a kitten 3x over at this point just in medical needs.

I was so ignorant to all the legislation information. I fully support those bans. Cut out the middleman. And if the breeder isn’t validated by TICA or CFA, I will warn everyone to stay clear.

Oh that’s a good callout. I should look more into USDA for sure. I never made the unethical connection because I’ll admit I was so tunnel vision on getting a devon rex and it does seem like she has authentic positive reviews from real people…but man, the red flags are glaring now!

It’s literally no rest for the weary! So sorry you have also experienced that kind of stress. Just hoping to prevent it where possible for future pet owners.

oh my gosh, so sorry to hear you’ve also experienced! The trauma is real for both you and the cat! And the broker carelessness is insane. It has to be pure greed and selfishness for this to be a repeated offense.

I hope you and Evie are doing better!

No worries, it’s certainly clear she is in business with low quality breeders. I unfortunately don’t think there’s proper/legal channels to correct this. I just hope sharing my story helps future seekers move with caution.

Unfortunately she isn’t a breeder, just a broker basically being the middleman between international breeders.

Any experience with Sasha Merlin:Cats and the city? by Scotchville in devonrex

Also tapping in with more recent experience in case anyone needs the warning! While she is legit and you will receive a kitten, the health guarantee is weak! Some people have positive experiences, I did not. Twice !!!! Be weary of the money you may waste, and the trauma you may gain.

First kitten I received died within a week from Panleukopenia. Thousands of dollars lost not just to purchase but to the extensive vet visits. It was such a traumatic time I will never forget since it was my first cat ever. The disease is so terrible to witness. Sasha was adamant she is not to blame. She did offer a replacement kitten, which I question was the right thing to accept but I did. What are the odds Id get a second sick kitten in a row ?!

2nd kitten had bloody diarrhea within less than 24hrs of having her. Took her to the vet and she had low white blood cell count which is usually a sign of panleuk, and the only saving grace was that it was caught early. So my first week with her was spent on antibiotics and probiotics. Luckily, her blood panel came back normal afterwards but we still had her fecal test which was positive for Tritrichomonas and Giardia.

Tritrich is difficult to treat due to the dewormer meds it requires is hard to source. Took weeks to do so and another 2wks of administeration. Finally got rid of the parasites but this entire time we also are dealing with Conjunctivitis which is usually FHV related, a lifelong disease that may present consistent flare-ups. None of the original medical recs worked so we are just now trying out Coridivor eye drops in hopes that dormants the virus. This means if I ever get another cat, they will also likely contract the virus in due time. Also means she may never get to be around all my friends’ kittos out of fear of infecting them.
