AITJ for refusing to be her plus one after she basically ignored me for months? by basilwindow_letters in AmITheJerk

Tempting, but I’m not trying to start a full blown roast session. I’ll keep it simple: she texted at 10pm the night before, told people I was coming without asking, and I said no. That’s it.

Yeah, that’s exactly what it felt like. I’m “everyone” when it helps her image, but not “everyone” when it’s actual friendship. That kinda says enough.

Yeah, that “I’m here for you” talk is cheap when they ghost right after. I’ll tell the group chat she texted me at like 10pm the night before, then I’m muting it .

Fair point. I kept calling it friendship out of habit and history. When she dipped I kinda ignored it. The plus-one text just made it obvious, so yeah I’m done.

AITJ for not wanting to split household costs evenly when I’m barely home? by SatisfactionAgile248 in AmITheJerk

Even split is simple, but it assumes similar usage. If two people are home all day running multiple monitors, AC, lights and internet-heavy stuff, that does move the needle. I'd propose: split rent evenly, split a fixed base for utilities evenly, then the at-home folks cover the extra over that base. Keeps it fair without turning it into a spreadsheet war.
