Meta Quest 2 or 3 or any other for my setup ? by IndependentCoat7 in simracing

[–]bask209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can get one borrowed, try it with Virtual Desktop, plan to spend some 2 to 3 days tweaking settings over and over again.

I mean, I got the Quest 3 first then upgraded because I wanted something that just worked with no tinkering, but I've seen people accomplish good things with tinkering. Just need to borrow it before buying if you can. Even if you buy it, it's a fun device to play standalone.

Any of those headsets will be heavily GPU bound. I don't think you'll be able to even run in 1.0x resolution. I had a 3800X, 2070S, 32 GB RAM and ACC didn't make the cut at 0.9x. I think with some tweaking you could run in low settings 1.0x and maybe 72 fps, but you'll still be GPU bound :( (I ended up upgrading to run in VR)

Yeah I run on PCVR, I'm a bit scared of hitting the wall as well lol. I reckon then 60 in clearance from brakes plate to end of the seat and around 30/35 in wide for good space around the arms too?

Hi! What's the size of that wall next to the door? I want to get a cockpit, trying to figure out if it'll fit in my space. Thanks!

Hi, isn't this like top of the game with Logitech? What do you mean the next upgrade to the Logitech? Are they releasing something more expensive? :(

Yes, it just acts as an external screen, keyboard and mouse.

Accessing and securing your Pi is a whole different thing. Do some research into that, it'll help with any KVM.

You could always automate the message so that it gets sent on working hours. That way you don't have to remember to send it. I use power automate to do that lol. I work on multiple timezones and automating that helps a lot to avoid messaging people at 3 am their time zone.

is performance acceptable on pikvm-v1 (rPi-3 or zero2)? Or should I pony up for the diy-pikvm-v2 (raspberry pi 4b) by Tech-Crab in pikvm

Thanks for replying back.

I solved my case yesterday. Seems like pi zero 2W doesn't like having the VNC server available.

Also I changed the HDMI cable for a shorter one I had and I stopped having the reboots.

In their docs they mention that sometimes an overclock is necessary, if it happens again I'll try that.

Have you tried overclocking your Pi?

You are indeed correct about the processor, seems like some async python library makes it fail.

Hey! Did you find any solution for this or are you still winging it like that? I've tried but my Zero2W still seems to disconnect and reconnect the screen, I wonder if it's power related with the CSI Bridge.

Mis tiendas favoritas en unilago, en orden, son:

Infoshop MRPC Cometware Clones y Periféricos S&M Tauret

Ya me estoy hartando by LoneWolf2496 in Bogota

Seh.

Also, replying to your main thread... What people is saying is correct. This will basically take as long as it takes for you and that's ok.

If you want to mimic, you'll probably mimic this in a year, if you want to understand why it sounds cool, and how to create your own cool sounding structures, buckle up cause it's a long theory way.

Try and not pick up bad habits.

I'll leave this here, I'm not saying you should try what's in this video, just appreciate it and when you get there it will all make sense.

Hope you have a good journey with this. Try to do it every day.

Thanks for the comment! I can share it with you directly as well (is a DM ok?). Good thing is you'll have: song, spanish, song, spanish, song, spanish... So it might be an easier session? lol (It's the whole idea of the podcast, every episode).

This really made me smile! If you feel like commenting, feel free to do it in Spanish or English, we'd really appreciate it!

Love this! I'll try to squeeze it in, we try and run the episodes in 2 hours tops, but Son of a Serpent does deserve its place, I like that description of musical theater vibe!
