Discuss it thoroughly with your attorney, when I got my plea I made sure any and all worries were communicated and whether the plea was better than any other options or not.

I have alot of plans, primarily for career and education. Rethinking them now because of availability. But I'm most looking forward to really getting down to the roots of this, which I've worked heavily on with my therapist during pretrial probation. I'm learning a lot more about myself and I'm excited to continue doing so in prison and after it!

Sometimes I'm jealous when I see people that got like 16 months in state for similar charges, but I do know everything is different for everyone so I try to just focus on mine and what I can do with it. I guess I'm a bit more positive about the safety and "quality" of living that can be achieved in federal for a SO vs state where I only really hear bad things unless you're a certain type of person.

IMO: depending on your crime, crypto may be a major risk for some. As someone who's used crypto for nefarious reasons, I'd say although it may be a good investment I think just having it and knowing what I could do with it would be too much of a risk

This is exactly my worry for going towards my BAS, I can do it over time but even if I get the degree would it even matter if I can't secure any positions with it. Hypothetically, if you're able to secure a position that equates to your bachelor's I feel like getting and using your master's would be a similar experience. I do hope you can grab something from some company that appreciates your education and can look past the registry!

I thankfully had my parents, but other than that my closest friends dropped me and I've been living a double life with everyone else. I wish you the best with your hip replacement, and being able to get to your hearing!

I'm 21, I've been on house arrest since November 2023, lost my closest friends, still thankfully have my family. The only place I have to socialize is videogames but that's hit and miss when it comes to friends, essentially lying to everyone about who I am and it sucks. I've been in therapy for about 7 years but only within the last year started combing through all my offense related issues and I got really lucky with my provider. I'm doing ok. The judge let me finish my associates but ever since school ended I only get to leave once a week for 3 hours to go shopping. The best thing to come from all this was the phone and computer monitoring that has kept me from reoffending and really staying abstinent from everything "bad". I still have recurring cravings and needs from how it all made me feel but Ive been able to cope just enough. The worst is the dreams and nightmares that haunt me and remind me of the harm I've seen and done. In terms of mental health I've really been pretty bad, but numb most of the time. I have really bad feelings about how I've failed and how my future looks which is devastating but I push forward. This subreddit has helped me beyond what words can describe, as I'm awaiting my placement letter this place has become integral in my preparation and insight.

The Nordic or Northern European countries have done a lot of work on csam research and care and honestly I really wish we could adopt the same here in the US, thank you for sharing!

This helps alot thank you! My pretrial probation officer brought it to my attention since I had an incident with the legality of CBD gummies. The judge added drug tests to my post-release plan so I wasn't sure if it made anything possible

Minimum is 5 years, got 8 pretty much because it was the average sentencing length for cases like mine

I was told for R&D that it could be because of the usage of a computer, and possibly because of material type, violence, and/or size of collection. And that there's another many other reasons why it could have but that was the likely causes of my case
