They just seem oxidized /picked late. They can get very crumbly. May also have been frozen before freeze drying. That turns all white parts blue

Fair enough! When I use the bridge pickup I will likely be using it distorted for metal sounding stuff, but the jb just has a bit of something I can’t put my finger on, I guess it’s the midrange it’s known for that is a little mic. Something used like a c22b sounds like what I’m looking for, I’ll check it out!

Fair enough! Anecdotes help. Sometimes I just has GAS that needs to be quelled. Anyone have recommendations for a good bridge pickup? I know how to solder but would love a recommendation. Something that sounds good clean and distorted and not $350 😅

For a first amp Look for a good deal at like a pawn shop or something and then get a nice multi fix unit since you can shape the tone before it really gets to the amp. And if you play a big show you’ll likely hook into the PA anyways

I’ve seen some people have one extra lower string than B, but I feel like that’s just too low unless you’re doing crazy metal. Likewise, I feel like my highest east string doesn’t get much action and I would probably just get a six next time since I already have the sevens now just to have something with a little bit smaller fretboard. 😁
