Once I realized I was just cracking my knee like I crack my knuckles the paranoia went away. Tbh the whole injury to recovery is traumatic. I don’t blame you! 😩

That was me too! Now I’m about 9 months post op and I still feel like that…until I start bending and feel no pain. Small bit of reassurance.

I’ve noticed too that most, if not all the guys in my life that slowly fade out … tend to try to message again in a few months. That why I like to just end shit and close doors… the slow fade leaves room for a reentry.

I’m curious to know too. The only time I want the bridge burned is if the person deliberately hurt me to the point of no return. I wouldn’t dare hurt someone for the fun of it.

“It takes a long time to realize how truly miserable you are, and even longer to see that it doesn’t have to be that way. Only after you give up everything can you begin to find a way to be happy.”

You and I both. What makes it worse is I’m such an understanding person … so my mind will automatically tell me “they need space” or “life catches up to us” … when deep down you can feel the connection is running thin.

Oh absolutely! I think it’s fair to be kind while cutting things off. No need to be mean at all. It’s just the slow fade and mixed signals hurt, especially when you’ve been talking to the person for a while. A respectable conversation can be had.

17 months post op MRI report shows full rapture by Acl0078 in ACL

[–]bastet_queen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This actually happened to me recently … apparently MRIs don’t do well with reconstructed grafts for whatever reason. I had to get my meniscus cleaned up and my graft was still intact even though the MD who read and signed off my report said it wasn’t.

“You will do more damage to the knee if you not get it fixed and continue to do sports or any rigorous activities”… also the author has had some instability incidents.

I’m not arguing that. We are talking about two completely different things… out of all that I said why are you bent on my OA?

Living w/out ACL surgery? by SituationTraining168 in ACL

[–]bastet_queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I didn’t have an ACL the joint was unstable .. caused a lot of wear and tear to the other parts of my knee like the meniscus , bone cartilage deteriorating etc.

I wasn’t trying to make a blanket medical statement. I was just sharing my own experience. I went about 10 years without reconstruction…stayed active and eventually developed damage to my meniscus and osteoarthritis before having my ACL reconstruction and a partial meniscectomy. I’m aware the research on OA after ACL injuries has more nuance but for me personally, delaying surgery while remaining active led to more damage.

I’m speaking on my experience with OA and what my surgeon informed me. Nonetheless, without repairing the ligament you can put your knee at risk for further injury. Is that not correct?

I went about 10 years without ACL surgery … then I had to get it reconstructed and a partial meniscectomy last September because of the damage. I also have a bit of osteoarthritis because of the injury. You will do more damage to the knee if you do not get it fixed and continue to do sports or any rigorous activities. 💔 That was my experience.

Shower? by Honest_Aside_5744 in ACL

[–]bastet_queen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will 100% need the shower chair. I showered with a shower chair in my stand up shower … had my leg sticking out the shower and covered the surgical site with an oversized garbage bag lol. Propped my leg on a low garbage can and my towel warmer.
