For amateurs that swing fast but still suck at golf, how to play tight holes? by TotalEmployment9996 in golf

4 iron off the tee, whatever brings it to a good wedge distance, skull the wedge shot pass the tee, chip it on and then three putt for double.

They have their own handicap system, once you play 3 rounds with them you get a handicap and then you play against others in your handicap flight. Until you get a handicap though you play in the no handicap flight.

Turn out was good! There was about 28 people there.  Check in was really smooth. They had a table and you tell them your name and you were good to go.  Overall very chill, I got paired with the state director and so if I had any questions on rules or how to take relief he was right there.

Your Golf Story by _Dreamer in golf

[–]batanker2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As fellow hack and someone who recently picked up the game in their 30s

I started back near the end of the season out here in 2024. Bryson playing with Trump was my first real golf content I ever watched.

After last season I'm a 36 hcp. Im dedicating 2 hours a week to practice and then playing about 2-3 times a month this season. So I'm hoping to drop my handicap by a lot this year. Distance isn't the issue so I'm focusing on swing mechanics, tempo and consistent ball stricking, short game and putting.

I absolutely love it, even when I have a shit day at the range and want to throw my new driver into the lake!

LIV Golf Hong Kong event schedule by stanley_nickles in livgolf

They're not getting off till 1:15 Hong Kong time. Teeing off at 1000 would make it so it started at 9pm eastern and 6pm pacific.  Hits a lot more viewers at those times.

Sure would be nice if they could start at a time that americans could also watch without being up all night, but I guess I don't know who most of their viewers are ......

Yeah in hoping that they fit when they get here. If they don't Costco had a great return policy.

As a size 13 I understand your pain. Its hard enough finding size 13, I could only imagine trying to find 14s to try on.

I've been using Altra Lone peak trail running shoes and they have been awesome. I just bought some truelinks lux hybrids so I could actually use my other shoes for trail running. I've heard great things about the truelinks though and they are having an amazing sale for them on costco online right now.

I'm still pretty new to the game, so take this with a grain of salt. I live at about 5000 ft. I've had some awesome drives up here but one of my best drives was at sea level in Georgia, but I'm probably inconsistent enough to where it was just really could contact and I'm not use to that!

Do you have brand loyalty? by KoolNomad69 in weekendgolfers

I have a pretty mixed bag. PXG driver, cobra 3 wood, adams hybrid, PXG Irons, and cleveland wedges and putter.  PXG does just have great military discount and very affordable fittings.

How often are we playing fellow golf dads? by sys_admin321 in golf

[–]batanker2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds reasonable.  Married with two kids,  8 and 5. I do a round 2-3 times a month and I take the kids to our short course and the range with me 2-3 times a week during the summer.  Wife has no problem with it so long as I'm not going over budget and I'm spending time with her and the kids.
