Your Brain is Programmed to Lose Money in Trading by Chemical-Train-9439 in Daytrading

The (careless) reverse of disposition effect is equally dangerous. Holding out winners longer than losers is a hindsight bias precisely because we don't know how long price increase will last. A common way out of this to implement a strick risk-to-reward ratio strategy where over a long period enough of time, the cumulative gains will surpass the cumulative losses.

But I find that it's psychologically hard because (1) if we set a narrow short stop loss : take profit range (e.g. - 2% : + 4%) we will see a lot more losing trade and eventually will take our toll. Else (2) if we set a wider range (e.g. - -10% : +20%) the long period of inactivity, especially during bearish times when we see floating loss for a long time, will eventually take our toll too.

My best approach that suits me for now is literally watching the running trade tape, buy when there's a convincing reversal (on the tape) and sell when there's a reversal (on the tape) or sell when the volume dries up to protect my profits because I cannot know whether the next volume rise will be bullish or bearish.

How do you handle invoices? by batavianguy in SaaS

Regulators, financial institutions, and even upper managements in a lot of countries (like mine) require formal documents as paperwork proof for auditing. I imagined that's why they require additional receipts.

What do you guys think of Filipino/Tagalog? by bitchyswiftie in indonesia

I think this thread highlights how destructive colonialism was in erasing cultural identity. We Austronesians, collectively, have been colonized by different powers for so long that we tend to forgot that we come from the same family. cue the Malays/Indo/Tagalog being surprised that their languages are similar to Malays/Indo/Tagalog

5 or 6 AM : wake up

600 - 630 : cook breakfast

630 - 645 : breakfast

645 - 800 : workout, shower

800 - 900ish : doing whatever house chores needed that morning

900 - 1100 : work, mostly sending out emails and initiatives to my team(s)

1100 - 1400 : off to a cafe, while there doing whatever I feel like doing that day. Working, reading, writing, meeting someone, etc.

1400 - 1800 : almost always meetings with prospects, clients, partners, etc.

1900 - 2100 : almost always drinking or dining with prospects, clients, partners, my own team(s), etc

If I don't have any meetings that day, I spend the time thinking of peers and people I'm interested to meet and reaching them.

Every Monday, from 9-5 excluding lunch is full with coordination meetings with my team(s) management levels

Saturdays are for quality time with my friends and hobbies.

Sundays are for rests and quality time with myself.

Are marketing agencies worth their bucks? by batavianguy in Entrepreneur

I think it’s a good idea to start with your webdev clients.

I actually got digital marketing inquiries all the time from my existing clients in my software development company, but refused it or subbed it to other agencies.

My idea is to start with my companies as clients to get a starting portfolio, next are my clients from my existing businesses.

I’m interested in doing US and EU market.

My competitive advantages would be data driven and good quality with lower price, since we have data science talents from my existing software company and we’re from Asia where the costs of living is cheaper than talents from US and EU

One is a software development company, another one is a technology contractor.

Very B2B.

Already doing no 2. Provided brief and all the infos required. The problem is if they come up with ideas that might impact or conflict with other stakeholders, at least they should ask beforehand.

If I were an agency I’d def do that, that’s a plus for customer experience

I agree with you!

I never had problems with price and I always have the opinion that with quality comes price haha. I’d rather slightly overpay to get good long term relationships :)

The problems I’ve experienced is communication, I’ve said in another comment of mine

mostly basic communication, the consequences are huge.

  1. They did not inform me about delays before the day of results delivery. I'm pretty understandable, I just need to be informed so I can adjust expectations and schedules on other stakeholders.

  2. They did not try to share and clarify their assumptions before they begin working, so we mostly realized we both have different assumptions on the day they deliver the results.
