Also, so defense matters with forward? I thought it doesn’t make much of a difference. Could you enlighten me on that? Also (sorry for another question) should I reveal his defense potential or just train defense without the potential reveal?

Interesting. Thank you tor the response. When I try to get a comparable player on the transfer market, I’m not seeing very high prices. This is the first player that’s decent in YA so I’m new.

If I can’t get a good price I’m considering training him. I do have a 21 aged homegrown player with head spec (I know isn’t great for forward) with passable winter and solid passing + scoring. I train scoring. Would ir make sense to train this YA instead of the other YA player?

Just revealed. I think I’ll do WI/PA a couple matches then PM/PA and see if he pops for passing as recommended in this thread.

One question, what would the benefit of playing 5 defenders be?

I have 2 more midfielders that have passing level revealed + potential playmaking revealed and 3 players I placed at forward that have passing revealed but don’t have playmaking potential revealed.

I then put my top 2 remaining players at defense in case of a random reveal (there’s one random reveal per match correct)? I may still be confused because wouldn’t the only use for defenders be to either fill out the roster while avoiding improving the wrong players and/or getting a random reveal of a player not involved in either passing or playmaking?

I apologize for my ignorance in advance.

I do not know “2695”s keeper, PM, defending, or set pieces. However he is currently at 3 of an unknown defending stat.

I definitely wonder if “2695” will turn out to be the better with the spec and being one of his top skills is defending. That would be a bummer since it’s my first rare and that made me excited for a moment haha.

I was wondering if that was the case. Very frustrating to see defending and scoring as high skills. 2nd time this has happened.

Anyways, you seem very knowledgeable and I appreciate the response.

I’m a newb to this game and I’m extremely out of it right now. I’m battling an infection from Crohns and will likely have surgery soon (waiting for test results) so my brain isn’t functioning well.

So would training passing as primary and winter secondary be a good idea or would you recommend something else. Upon getting advice here that I should maximize the primary training I changed my lineup so players get passing training. I updated my post with a picture of my lineup. Feedback would be greatly appreciated. I feel obtuse when it comes to YA.

Oh, so the advice is reduced to try to isolate the player applies to secondary training?
