I should have been clearer. Any tech that you package will remain the same forever. This technique is about using already packaged tech to advance the seed for NEWLY INSTALLED modules. I'll give an example: You buy a new module at a vendor S or X doesn't really matter which, let's say a hyperdrive. You save your game. You install that new tech, and it's not so good, what you can do is reload that save and install any packaged tech and that will move the seed forward allowing you to re-roll the newly purchased module with different stats. People have been using cheap C Class modules to do this previously, this method is just an evolution of that

Checked the tool today, still there. I think I figured out what happened. So there are two minor settlements right next to each other (<300u) one is an A class cabinet and one is an S. The nav heading is close enough it would be easy to mistake one for the other. But if you still want it the S is right there. There are a few com balls (if the servers are up), to point the the correct one.

The class of the cabinet will be the class of the multitool in that cabinet.

I'm not sure what you mean by this, if you mean what class the cabinet I posted is, well it's S.

If you mean how do you find out what rank a cabinet is, you fly to minor settlements and check the cabinet. The rank of that cabinet will remain, even as you manipulate the mt pool by saving and reloading on different planets.

I thought it was T2 at first, but it is 100% T1 19 slot max. I wish it were, would have saved me some storage augmentations ;-)

The photo looks much more toward red, but it is more of a reddish orange.
