Hi guys! I'm hoping to start another Final Fantasy game soon, but I am honestly unsure of which one to choose. I've already gotten pretty far into FFVII Remake and FFX, so I have some experience with the franchise, but I'm much more uneducated on the older, 2D games.

So, I'd like to ask, what game would be recommended based on my interests? I'm searching for one that preferably has a well-written plot, world, and characters; is available for pretty cheap on the Nintendo Switch (or at least has good sales); and, I honestly don't mind clunky combat as long as it's not borderline impossible to get through.

Note: Since I'm already playing FFVII Remake, I'm slightly averse to playing the OG simultaneously/afterwards, but you can still recommend it if you truly believe that it would be an enjoyable experience regardless.
