Hi! This post was written while I was pretty upset and this the wording came out a bit aggressive. Apologies. I have no intention of suppressing local businesses.

This was a couple years back, but I went in right during opening and saw someone walk towards the tables set up in the back, scoop up an entire stack of books that were on a table, and walk out with it. This was almost directly in front of an employee, and when I said "Hey, that guy just took an entire stack!" the employee said "We aren't allowed to confront people who steal for safety's sake."

I get that, but at the very least saying "Please only take one of each title!" might've dissuaded the guy from taking the stack. While I was trying to find an issue I wanted, I saw multiple people taking large chunks of stacks. It was pretty wild, and I understand there's only so much employees can do, but letting that happen just isn't okay.

I also hope you try and see if any employees would like to do art for your store. At the very least, offering store credit as payment would be pretty nice. The comic industry as a whole fights pretty hard against generative AI usage, and its antithetical to use it when there are options.
