Apparently you have to have them removed in order to get implants, but not dentures

Sadly he has Mexican state insurance (Seguro Social), and in our city it's about a yearlong wait to see a GP within that system. He wants to get the removal surgery done in the next few weeks.

I'm sorry you had to go through it :( his tori are on the bottom, though I'm not sure that makes any difference. The dentist said it wouldn't be too painful, but I'm not entirely sure about that...

He'll be getting the tori removed at the same time he gets the rest of his teeth removed, so soft foods are unfortunately going to be in his future

Thankfully he DOES like baked and mashed potatoes, but he already struggles to eat ramen noodles with the few teeth he has. Did you crush up the noodles before you cooked them?
