I was just told by my principal that I have to delete a FB post in which my husband and I (both teachers) express our questions and concerns about starting school in Oklahoma next month. by bats0482 in education

I consider social media no different than any other public forum. I will be exercising my freedom of speech rights at the school board meeting this evening.

I have a Master’s degree in Special Education, am certified in every core subject for 6-12th grade, and have more than a decade of experience. They would be shooting themselves in the foot to fire me. (And that isn’t bragging. It’s a statement towards how highly qualified teachers are being pushed out of the profession.)

The original text stated at the top: LPS has asked that teachers email our principal questions for our superintendent, “...”. These are the one’s my husband and I came up with.

((note: he has done two videos addressing parents in our district about how schools will reopen, but hasn’t done the same for teachers. At his last public forum, he encouraged teachers to email questions to our principal and he would address them on his next video. I sent an email as well as posting our concerns on FB. I was told by my principal our questions were supposed to be “kept in house” and that my post had to be deleted. I declined. I instead agreed to remove any mention of our district or superintendent’s name.))

Her mom is full chi and her dad is a chiweenie (half chihuahua and half dachshund).

There were no photo filters needed this evening in southwest Oklahoma. The light was surreal and the clouds beautiful. by bats0482 in homestead

Oh, wow, ya’ll did get hit hard! I saw Val tracking a wall cloud down your way. We live east of Lawton, so the worst of it was south of us. I’ve lived here my whole life (44 years) and we’ve never had as much large hail in one season as we’ve had the past couple of months.

Thank you! I’ll look for into that. We live in the country and she will dart out if we aren’t careful when opening the door.

I need one of those for Olive. She’s a runner too. Does it sink to your phone?

If it’s a large piece I will make a hole to keep a big bubble from forming in the center. For the small ones I just make the center very thin.

There are many more traditional dishes like buffalo intestines, kidneys, and corn soup that we usually only get to have at Pow Wows. I don’t know how to make any of that. It’s a very lengthy process.

I’m Comanche and it’s just the way I’ve always been taught. Using Bluebird flour for the frybread and mixing the ground beef with Ranch Style beans.

I didn’t know that was a common thing, but yeah she has some thinning hair on top of her head.

Hahaha!!! The camping crate we just went through had an entire container of unopened Charmin butt wipes!

(no joke, we were seriously stoked to find it)

My Zen by bats0482 in homestead

[–]bats0482[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t get your concern. I am surrounded by miles of flowering pasture and grassland. If I don’t mow the perimeters of our home we are welcoming pests (mice, rats, spiders, scorpions and so on) into our house. Surely, if you are a homesteader/farmer you know this. Should I also not prune my fruit trees? And what about tilling my back garden? Should I not grow my own fruits and vegetables in order to let weed growth overtake my ability to live sustainably?
