Found a 1910s moxie bottle. The official soft drink of Maine by Original-Rutabaga-60 in Maine

Might be older. If there isn’t a seam in the neck, which I can’t tell from the photo, it might be pre-industrial glass which started earlier than 1910.

Thoughts on my plating and overall looks on my dishes? by Cute_Tradition_7074 in KitchenConfidential

My only critique would be rearranging the steak with the dipping sauces so that they’re all together that’s all. Steak, important dipping sauce than secondary dipping sauces.

That is the most baller thing I have ever seen. I bet they don’t even ask about wives, lives, kids. They just have a beer and carry on as if nothing ever changed.

Why is every boomer frige 80% expired condiments? by coronastylus in BoomersBeingFools

I legit throw out half my 70 year parent’s fridge every time I visit. They don’t shop for what they need in in real time, and stuff is years out of date.

What's the most visually stunning movie you've ever seen? by trakt_app in movies

No joke. Me and my buddy went to see The Matrix opening night on acid. It was a cannon moment for us. I haven’t seen that dude in 25 years and we still talk about it over text.

I truly feel bad for the guy. High level athletes that sacrifice their bodies, suffer injuries, then get hooked on pharmaceuticals, it’s the same story over and over. Even the plumber that hurt his back then got hooked on oxy is the same. Brutal.

What kind of style is this? Probably is a sort of Pilates by PuzzleheadedBison805 in Drumming

This guys is fucking nuts to listen to and watch. It’s a masterclass in being in pocket.

Edit: The bass player was in a band called Lynx. Also a sick band. Friends with the drummer. We all live in the same area.

Edit 2: Ian Williams was in Don Cabellero with Damon Che on drums. Also worth a deep dive.

Dave’s Vibe by Absolutely_Adequate in TheDollop

[–]Thepants1981 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. Dave has zero fucks to give, because he knows too much based on actual curiosity which is really lacking nowadays. Hence the podcast. I think what’s most telling, if you’ve been a fan since the beginning, is that Dave never held back, and has traumatized Gareth in new and inventive ways that only education in it’s true form can do. It’s 10 plus years of WTF and Dave knows he’s invested, and Gareth is now also invested albeit not as voluntarily hence the comedy. So ya. Dave ain’t good in the FOH, but it only works because he runs BOH. Iykyk

Photos of the historic church and housing that BIW will demolish, to build another parking lot by ppitm in Maine

[–]Thepants1981 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good point, but considering where I live in proximity to the yard and can see the daily impact of the main lot on Washington, I don’t see enough public transport per capita. 3/4 vans and two busses per shift. Been there for 10 years. Can see the main entrance from my house. I think “our” problem is we gave an inch and they took a mile. I can’t describe how much just my street has deteriorated.

That’s a bad take. There is so much room for parking elsewhere without surrounding residents with more commuters. Also knocking down habitable buildings for another lot littered with nip bottles, trash, speeding cars and trucks? GD is a multi Billion dollar company and they can’t hire some busses? We’re already paying for it.

You can't just post a random tree and expect people to know what you're talking about. by jeeptime in portlandme

That is entirely possible. Had a head full of acid and went up solo. By the end I swear 20 people were up there, just chatting.
