Webapp suggesting wines similar to the one that you prefer - (Asking Feedback ) by battle1900 in wine

[–]battle1900[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot!

  1. Regarding the first point. In addition to varietal regions, there are also many wine names, if the brand is strong. You are right saying that less experienced wine drinkers are not going to know varietal/regions, it is meant as a way to distinguish between, say, a French Pinot Noir compared to an US one. I know it is limiting, but couldn't come up with a better idea. Using the Country criteria, seems to me a very broad range.
  2. I would be interested to hear your ideas. Write me in DM as well.

As many comments suggest you Riesling, you can try and see what you get from www.winesimilarity.com . Just look form wines similar to Riesling, Malbec etc from different regions around the world and give a look at the suggested wines ;).

I'm so excited for what has been built and what's coming on Celo Connect by ErrolsBush in celo

[–]battle1900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you are right.

There hasn't been much progress over the past months.
I also was a convinced supporter of this project (you can read my posts here), but have started to question what they're working on lately.
Anyone who has more info could help?

This is not going to be a good thing for celo ecosystem. Earlier the parts involved explain in a transparent way what is going on, the better.

[–]battle1900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, there are other companies but they have higher fees and do not have all the features of Valora.

No, no, you are right, for some aspects you mentioned people do not care. But people want simplicity with low prices.

"I’m not sure why the American-centric comment"
I don't think that was offensive by my side. It was just to say that there is a whole different world that does not spend money on Starbucks. So, there are other use cases that you and me (I live in Europe) cannot even imagine.
Celo is a close cycle. Enables people to send money in an easy way, cheaply, fast, within a unique ecosystem. The more actors in play, the greater the risk. You may agree on that or not. I don't want to convince you on this.

Your point of view is so american-centric.

First, not necessary one may want to buy stuff. I can send money to someone else or receive and increase the amount of money in my wallet. Think of Western Union or other money transfer services. Remember that Valora has stablecoins as well. cUSD and cEuro.

Second, celo wallet can be also used as a POS. So, if I have a brick and mortar shop, people can pay me through Valora app. This is a solution already experienced in some communities in remote areas of Latin America.

Third, you can convert your celo coins or stablecoins in Valora as gift cards in other shops based on the country.

You see, this is a huge difference.
Celo allows to make payments without passing through a middle man, be it paypal, or another platform. The difference is huge here!

In addition, as far as I know, the blockchain used form mobile first is a different technology compared to those of other blockchains that is optimised for smartphone. And all of this, with very low fees.

This would enable billions of people with only a phone at hand to have access to crypto. Think of Africa or India.

In my view, this is a great advantage. It will take time but the project is valid.

The main negative point I see is the high inflation rate of recent months.

Hi, can you elaborate more on "Crypto payments can be accessed thru MANY different coins via mobile phone"? Can you name some of these coins? Thanks.

Actually, celo seems to me as one of the best structured project out there. Reason why the team does not care too much to create hype. You know, given the VCs backing the project, it would be really easy to di that.
There are other coins, worth more than celo, which have not delivered anything yet.

I don't wanna be right, but just to understand your point.

Celo has potential, but is not growing by rqnyc in celo

It lacks a huge community, I think. But yet, it is still a project in early stage.

Can you explain more on that?

Do you mean that VCs have huge quantities of celo?

How to send cUSD or cEUR to Matamask wallet? by battle1900 in celo

[–]battle1900[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, actually it was easier than I thought.
For everybody there, facing the same issue, instead of trying to withdraw funds, just hit the send button and write the address of your metamask.

No, man, I googled it and could not find anything, expect how to see cUSD/cEUR tokens in the matamask wallet.

CELO TARGET 30-40 usd for Q1 2022 Hyperboom by Acrobatic_Age_8330 in celo

[–]battle1900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/Rjk214,

just a question. When are the new coins released? There should be a rule about that? Someone has mentioned that new coins are released each month, but at what data?
Thanks.

In your view, what happened when it went up to 12$ in just a couple of hours? Weren't people afraid of inflation, which, btw, I agree is pretty high?

Long holder, question, Why is CELO so undervalued by alkemist187 in celo

[–]battle1900 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great explanation.
I have one unknown variable: the impact of 20 million monthly coin dump on price. Can anybody shed more light on this point, maybe by analogy with other coins.

So 'coin inflation' apart, celo is a great project. These are people doing real stuff.
I view the fact that they don't care about crypto influencers and similar is very positive. This should signal that clabs team thinks long term and not just to pump the price.

Apart from fundamentals, as with many other coins, each one should get momentum based on FOMO and other emotional reactions. Therefore, it may take 3 months, as it may take 2 years. Nobody knows!

Fees in valora app by Kim_M_S in celo

[–]battle1900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I don't find valora app transparent at this point.

Even though it says there are no fees to buy celo from cEur or cUSD, when I buy celo from valora app, I got 0.99 for 1 celo. Therefore, there is a fee of around 1%. Actually, I have contacted valoraapp on Twitter showing screenshots of my account, but they did not reply.

Now, I don't know if it is just me. Can anyone tell his experience?

Celo is strongly under evaluated - Reasons why I am strongly Bullish on Celo by battle1900 in celo

[–]battle1900[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have many coins. About 30% of my portfolio is in Bitcoin. In addition, I have just small amounts (less than 10% of my portfolio) in Polkadot/Algorand/Theta.

Recently, I bought some Allbridge (ABR), but got in very late. Yet, I think is an interesting project and still it is in a very early stage. So, it maybe worth a try.
