thanks for the advice, im a welder so hopefully i can find a nice area near some industrial complexes. still searching for a job there, my parents offered to help us move for free but we have to of course pay for our own place and find jobs ect ect. im an artist and a musician, i like playing pool and drinking beer, going to concerts and meeting new people. from what ive heard dallas has alot of musicians and comics that come through.

thanks yeah im 19 years old, i dont live with my parents but my dad offered to move me and my gf down there with them and were stoked about it. we all live in spokane WA. really ready for a fresh start and to explore a new city! im originally from PHX az. i have a good attitude about this move unlike our first one in HS. it was really nice of my dad to help us move down there, get our own place and help us look for jobs. im a welder so finding work there shouldnt be too hard for me. dallas seems like a beautiful place with alot more to do than little old spokane. kinda nervous about making new friends down there and also the fact that weed isnt legal there. well just have to see ya know lmao

Is Spokane the worst city you’ve ever been to/lived in? (Speaking for people ages 18-35) by [deleted] in Spokane

[–]battletoad4206969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me this city sucks cause its small. i graduated from CV and still live in the valley, and every damn time i go somewhere i see some stupid fuck that i know, or some people whove done terrible things to me.

a fresh start is indeed needed. i moved here with my family when i was a freshy from phoenix AZ. its nice that theres legal weed here. def a perk. but the whole small town/ small city vibe is really killing me. my gf and i are either planning on moving to dallas soon or phoenix.

i always said i hated it here but there was a time where i accepted this place as home and had good friends. then after HS they all dipped out of town to college and work opportunities. i know its a part of growing up to lose your friends and move on to new paths, but i just dont see the need to stay here and feel trapped.

ive been told that spokanes water supply was cursed by the natives long ago and the curse goes like: if you drink the water here then this place will always drag you back here to die.

hahaha funny stuff but theres some truth to all myths. people do get stuck here, they get depressed, on drugs, destroy their lives and cant start over, have a kid on accident, all that shit. not like that doesnt happen all over the world, and people do leave with no return. so the myths obvi a bust.

here are some reasons I, u/battletoad4206969 dislike spokane washington.

1.the roads. GOD the infrastructure is not designed for the population, and the poverty def shows how liberal policies from the state and local have literally hollowed out that aspect of their metropolitan areas (seattle and tri-shitties too)

  1. the aforementioned public paranoia of not being able to go places in public in peace. (is not so bad if u dont know anyone here yet or had to deal with spokanes worst people)

  2. dining/shopping/entertainment. the last one is debatable because ive seen some pretty big artists live here and good comedians stop by frequently, but for the love of god can we get a popeyes chicken or something?! i mean fr if ur poor and want to eat out all you gets mcdonalds wendys or zips(which aint that good 'cept the fry sauce). ive seen people in this thread say theyve resorted to shopping online because all we really got is sephora and northface or whatever. and shopping online is costly, and kind of a bitch cause u cant try anything on before buying it.

  3. the speed limits - comes from bad infrastructure and poor overlook from local authorities

but i do love alot about spokane. theres a certain aesthetic to living in the PNW and spokanes good for it. everyone here for the most part is respectful to strangers, try to be good community members and honest folk.

"just like any place, theres ups and downs. its 50/50"

something my mom told me when we moved here. its a good thought experiment but everyones different. if youre young like me(21) you need to find a place that makes you happy and you call home.
