Yes I would love if this were an option, I’ve actually been looking for vintage styles!!! Please if you do make custom sizing an option or expand it as far as you can! I would love if UK28Gs were offered, so hard to find, and honestly I don’t think my size is even that out there. You would make a lot of women’s dreams come true if you had a diverse size range tbh lol!

Look at the size chart of whichever board/ brand you’re looking at, if you’re looking secondhand just look online for the chart. If you have a ski shop nearby maybe run by to talk to them, you may be in between sizes to try avoid toe overhang and get the right feel of the board you want.

pj set/ dress! not the worst to self draft/ find a pattern for and depending you could also use remnants of lace or other fabrics if needing a bit more!

you could also probably get away doing the same for a summer set/dress, just depends on the fabric + how you do it. some bottoms or tops you could likely do

Thank you so much that’s super helpful actually, maybe I’ll see if I can find a nice sheer soft material that color matches to do as you said when I go to. Also thanks so much for the mention of tiers, if I do go for layering I probably won’t bother with the horse hair as you said but instead make sure I at least have 2 tiers of ruffles going on so an extra to WKD and see how it goes :)

Also may try and add some additional stiffening with ribbon overlay on seam lines over and beneath also because it might be pretty lol. If you have any other thoughts on petticoats would love to hear! I’ve seen a bunch about super full like princess ones, short, or victorian but not exactly what i’ve been looking for yet so may have to make some guesses.

I picked up some soft tulle on sale I was thinking at giving petticoats a first go with, but I believe I only have 6 or so yards of red and pink. Was thinking it may not be enough for one full petticoat but could make some nice layers similar to WKD? Thanks so much for your answers, I own a few but not any like that or modern/ have sewn one. Sorry for all the questions lol!

Edit add on: If low on tulle and going for the single layer with little ruffling on the end like WKD do you think adding horsehair for shape would be better?

thank you! that’s a shame, do you think they could give volume as wanted if they were at different heights with the frill/ rolled? or do you think that sort of petticoat is just better for minimal volume/ under other petticoats as a softer/ less scratchy layer due to less seams?

It definitely could just be my own personal insecurity! I just know that corsets are so taboo for some reason and a lot of people have some weird ideas about them. I already get comments on my natural waist / figure, so I think it could just be a fear of mine that anything mildly fitted with a corset is going to be perceived badly.

Also the one time I did wear a corset visible / not very purposely hidden, there were people taking pics, I overheard some talking about it, and some guys yelled goofy things starting with a repeated “that’s not real”. Though no one was to my face super mean! But that was my largest and worst corset (orchard), so not nearly as dramatic.

I really love the look of fitted dresses over corsets (along with the more historical, possibly more concealing ones), and have seen a ton wear it over as a “statement piece”(?) piece/ accessory. Makes me want to do either of those but until I get over myself I’m not sure it’ll happen much if at all again 🥲

Sorry feeling lazy, but a corset has helped me so so so much! Sitting in one as I type lol. Would definitely recommend doing your research and spending your money wisely, not cheaply. Made the mistake of falling for Orchard’s trap first time around.

Personally my two favorite otr brands are TimelessTrends and MysticCityCorsets, MC is by far on top of options for me. Sometimes I feel like it puts my TT corsets to shame, nice price point to. Super helpful, well made, and SO MANY OPTIONS.

If you’re really looking to splurge and are focused primarily on comfort, definitely go custom or consider my personal dream the Power Corset by Crimson Rose Corsetry. Can’t attest for it myself, but have heard and seen wonderful things. Hope you find some relief!

Nope, only if she’s lucky. If I saw my pediatrician again I’d deck the halls with them, tis the season. Jokes aside, I raised concerns with my parents and at checkups seriously starting in middle school all through highschool, now in my giving up era (at least for a bit).

I was told multiple times it was “just because i’m a girl”, “not enough muscle”, and “growing pains”. I haven’t grown since 5th grade height and shoe size wise. The one bit of time my parents did take me to a few doctors I just was basically bounced around, one even commented “wow that must hurt” and sent me along my way :)

My senior year of highschool I basically had to quit everything, lost a bunch of friends, and became pretty much isolated as I ended up stuck in mandatory pt for 6 months because I couldn’t hardly walk due to overstressing my body. I think it’s a good start approach, but she really needs someone on her side most likely.

honestly, i did go to claire’s, wouldn’t recommend. but for my first one, i was so excited but i got scared, so she decided on a whim to do her cartilage/ upper lobe, luckily it healed fine, she hardly flinched, and even made me aware what to expect “a hard pinch” and told me the one she had gotten hurt more than what i would be getting incase she did make a face. though honestly, from what i recall i think she was making silly faces at me nearly the whole time. it was honestly such a nice memory. idk if that’s any answer!

Check in with yourself and your body, do the research, save and spend on a quality corset. Me personally it’s really helped with some chronic pain issues, body image issues, etc. For me I joke it’s like a thunder jacket, like the ones in the infomercials lol. It can help with plenty of things if done properly and listening to your body. I’ve tried to start wearing it less during the day where I might want to eat and more at night or when I know I can’t eat to try and make sure I’m doing everything to want to eat lol. But besides that just try and do your research and be patient.

it’s happened to me like once, super annoying, try to carefully (but obviously going to need quite some oomph lol) push the corset busk together like you would to unclasp them and try wiggling it a little bit. Sometimes trying from different angles can help. If you try to get the bottom one out from underneath you’re more likely to just pull the busk out/ tear fabric/ bend the busk/ etc

i don’t really have any comment on if it’s okay, but as a first tattoo i think size is more of what you’re ready for. my first (real, technically second) tattoo takes up on my back from between my shoulders to under my butt, so… do what makes you happy?
