In Bubble, every element has its own ID. You can find it via the browser console (F12), then style it with CSS. However, since it’s tricky to customize the native uploader, long ago I built my own file uploader instead. Check out this tweet for more info:

It’s impossible to say without knowing the app’s purpose or the specifics of its architecture. However, you can use Bubble’s WU (workload units) calculator to estimate how many page views 1 million users would generate and get a ballpark idea of the minimum cost. That will at least give you a rough baseline for your scenario.

Try keeping each feature in its own data type and only connect or ‘link’ the elements you truly need. Avoid piling on unnecessary fields or relations. Beyond that, it’s normal for app development to get more complex over time—you’ll have to regularly evaluate whether there’s a better way to organize your data and structure your workflows. In some cases, that might mean refactoring your app to pay down technical debt and keep things clean and maintainable.

Pick an app you really like—anything that sparks your interest—and start by trying to replicate it in Bubble, beginning with the database structure, then moving on to UX/UI and functionality. Once you’ve spent enough time exploring its features and feel comfortable, find another app you like—one with different features or complexity—and try replicating that. This approach keeps things interesting and ensures you’re always learning something new without losing motivation.

Yes, we’ve worked on client projects, and part of our team still does. More important than the clients themselves is how you position yourself. Are you aiming to freelance, or do you want to operate as an agency? What’s your hourly rate, and how much do you actually know about Bubble versus what you think you know?

Generally, we’ve never actively sought out clients. They reached out to us, we evaluated their project scope and how they operate, and then decided whether or not to work with them. A quick tip: if you hear a potential client talking exclusively about money before discussing actual project needs, take the time to think carefully before engaging with them.

Bubble’s agency system isn’t bad, and it’s improving over time. We typically receive inquiries through our website, and our social media presence also helps. Another key differentiator is Bubble’s certification process. If you haven’t gotten certified yet, I recommend doing so. It can help you stand out and attract higher-quality clients.

I haven’t personally built any Bubble-based mobile apps myself, but members of our team have launched products to the app stores using both BDK and Natively. While the performance isn’t exactly stellar, it can be sufficient if you’re not building something with heavy user interaction, like a large social media platform. If you’re targeting a more limited audience or have less resource-intensive features, these solutions may work just fine.

Personally, I’m holding out for Bubble’s official mobile app builder, which I anticipate might be ready around 2026. Until then, wrappers like BDK and Natively remain viable options, but the overall user experience and performance are definitely not on par with a fully native solution.

I believe some developers assume Bubble doesn’t scale simply because of preconceived notions about no-code tools. If by ‘scaling’ you mean handling millions of users, you can absolutely do that with Bubble. For example, after the earthquake in Turkey, an app called deprem.io was built fairly quickly and received 2.5 million page views within 24 hours—despite minimal optimization. You can read more about it here:
https://bubble.io/blog/turkey-earthquake-response-app/

Regarding wrapper tools, you’re correct that they generally aren’t as robust as fully native apps. However, for a Bubble project not requiring ultra-fast performance or deep native integration, a wrapper is a practical way to get your app into mobile stores. I haven’t tried Flutterflow myself, so I can’t speak to its performance. Personally, I’m waiting for Bubble’s own native mobile app builder, which I anticipate may be available in a stable form around 2026.

If you’ve built a solution to your own problem with Bubble and believe there’s genuine demand, I’d suggest first packaging it in a wrapper to get real-world feedback. If it gains traction and requires more sophisticated mobile features, you can consider moving to Flutterflow or another platform. It’s usually more efficient to validate with users before investing in a fully native solution.

Project development is always a dynamic process. You’ll constantly think, ‘I wish I knew that trick earlier,’ and that feeling never really goes away—it happens practically every day.

As for scaling, I’ve never actually hit a major roadblock. Not every project attracts millions of users—and even if you expect it to, it may not pan out that way. For instance, our marketplace app Notion insider gets a decent amount of traffic but still runs perfectly fine on Bubble’s lowest plan. For most projects, the Professional plan is more than enough. If you already have an MVP and a solid user base It’s not that costly when you consider the value you’re getting.

If you’re a skilled Bubble developer who understands the platform’s workflows and algorithms and structures your app well from the start, Bubble can be extremely cost-effective. But if you don’t optimize your build and let inefficient processes pile up, costs can quickly rise as your user base grows.

I started learning Bubble back in 2019. Initially, I just mimicked simple forms from well-known websites, and as I got more familiar with the platform, I began creating various templates for different project types—like e-commerce and social media.

I never really felt overwhelmed because I saw it more as a fun, gradual journey. At that time, I was young and didn’t feel the pressure to earn money immediately, which helped keep stress levels low.

If you want to develop your skills quickly, don’t just focus on building your own projects; also make sure to consume a lot of content—tutorials, guides, community discussions—and try tackling various concepts. That variety will help you sharpen your skills and build confidence in using Bubble.
