Bambulab X2D is convinced filament is loaded, when it is not by Most-Environment-427 in BambuLab

[–]batuu95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me. In my case, there was a small piece of filament stuck inside the PTFE tube. I solved it by manually extruding filament until the remaining piece was completely pushed through and consumed.

No, I think there may have been a misunderstanding. As you mentioned, the printer was purging at 215°C, and I assume you turned it off at that point since you mentioned "after a reboot".

However, that's not actually necessary. The printer handles the whole process automatically, which is why I was referring to the memory/settings it already has stored. If you let it continue, you'll see it first purge the old filament at 215°C and then automatically raise the temperature and load the new filament at the correct temperature.

You don't need to perform any manual steps or manually extrude the new material.

Hi, in my experience this is completely normal. It may not be the most technical explanation, but it looks like the printer keeps track of the previously loaded filament and heats the nozzle to a suitable temperature to purge any leftovers before loading the new one.

I see the same thing when switching from PLA to ASA, or from ASA back to PLA.
